That should answer your question: http://www.spoilertv.com/2011/04/missing-sean-bean-cast-in-regular-role.html Or that is how I figured it out.
One of the first things I plan to do when I get home from deployment is marathon watch the first 3 epsidoes before the 4th airs.
All righty, who else is throwing a Game of Thrones party on Sunday? I’m breaking out my direwolf banner, baking lemoncakes, making a pork roast, the whole nine yards. I’ve been waiting for this moment for eleven years. I think I’m entitled to a feast! (Also we’re having friends over and I think it’d be fun.)
Niceee. I’ve got nobody who would be interested in watching it and will have to watch it on Monday anyways.
Wish you all a lot of fun.

For all those like me, who will need a helping hand for not getting lost with all the locations and characters.
Any thoughts on the premier last night for those who watched it?
It was awesome. Very good adaptation, true to the books. Great casting.
And it’s been renewed for a second season. I don’t imagine they’ll call it ‘A Clash of Kings’, it might confuse people who haven’t read the books. Of course if you haven’t read the books, go ahead and get copies now. We’ll wait.
I loved the episode and was so glad that they got Dany and Arya right. Loved the interplay between the Stark kids.
I think they decided on Game of Thrones as the title because most people call the book series by the title of the 1st book anyway.
It was a fun watch although its pretty screwed up in parts, true to the story mind you,
I’m kind of doing a concurrent watching the series and reading the books at the same time.
So its kinda all bleeding together. still good stuff, will give props, long time ago I sent out a call for good fantasy and gwc’rs recommend this, many moons ago.
Found a nice graphic which shows the family members plus their staff:

I just watched the first episode yesterday and I really enjoyed it. It’s good to see some big-budget fantasy on TV =)
I will admit though that I’m not familiar with the books so I had to do a little research on the characters!
It’s somewhat interesting in the above family tree that they put Lyanna Stark in it but not Rhaegar Targaryen. Especially considering certain speculation about each of the characters. I hope I’m being vague enough. I know it’s basic tree, but I would have thought if one was included, so would the other. But then again it’s left out other siblings Brandon Stark (which isn’t that important) and Stannis Barethon (who will have to be added in next seasons family tree).
I can understand the reasons why they changed the name of Robert Arryn, but I don’t really see the point. Is it really that difficult to have two characters of the same name? Especially in this series where are lot of families pass use the same name in each generation. I wonder what they’ll do when we meet the Freys.
I think I’ve kept things general enough to avoid spoilers, but if anyone thinks I’ve been a bit too free, I’ll spoiler box it.
You’ve kept it vague enough that I didn’t feel spoiled by it.
Here is a nice map of Westeros which is presented in a Google Maps style and has tiny informations about many locations.
Hehe
Yeah, that tree appears to be limited to people we’ll meet in more than passing. (Stannis only has one real scene, if they stick to the books, and maybe not even that.)

Things are confusing enough for new viewers as it is, no need to have two people with the same name. I don’t know what they’ll do about the Freys, but there are only few of them who are really important to the story. I imagine we’ll meet them and the rest will be pushed to the background.
This was awesome! Thank you for posting it!

Always gladly! This is a big new world for me as well and like you there will be many noobs looking for guidance as well.

Haha, nice connection. Never would have thot of that one.
