X-Men: The Last Stand Frak Party 12/19 @ 10 PM ET

There’s a scene of where Prof X’s consciousness comes back to a body in coma at the end, after the closing credits. I never saw this one before. Cool!

That’s what I’d heard and I thot, “This is gonna be OSSIM!!” And super-PMS, nail on head.

I hear you. I thot he was speaking as a concerned parent who wanted to focus on his daughter-figure and not the person asking all the questions…but it could be taken as overbearing.

I originally saw this by “other means” and was told later about the post-credits scene, so I had to find it by “other means” as well. It was nice to see it dvd quality instead of video from someone’s camera phone…

As always, it’s been fun but I’ve been working late and work partying all week. I need to sleep. Nite Nite.

Night, 'talos!

That was something as I remember it.

Night, FT.

Nitey, nite FT.

Good night all.

Nite Leah.

Well, I should turn in too. Sleep is calling. And I guess I only have myself to blame if I have nightmares about Santa being a mutant tonight.

It came into play in the animated series, as well. Too cool.

Yes, a lot of social scientists and philosophers come to the same conclusion as you, that the only lasting interest that passes all tests of legitimacy is self-interest… and that morality can be defined relativistically depending on which side you are. I’m not sure if I agree with the arguments 100%, but a lot of it makes sense to me.

Night, Leah. Night, TFG.

He could be like the guy who split himself into many of himself. That would make the travel issue much easier.

I couldn’t disagree more. To go back to your earlier example of “curing” blackness (heretofore known as “honkification”), what if someone else not only made that choice for you, but even took away your will to object? You’d be convinced that you were happy to be white, but everyone who knew you previously would grieve you as if you had died. I believe the comparison to Alzheimer’s was made on the 'cast – you’re still alive, but everything that defines you is gone.

“Sometimes, death is better.”

In the end, they all have the luxury of philosophizing about good and evil, and about what’s fair or unfair. But the moment they perceive a threat to their own welfare, they do what they can with their power to protect themselves. Prof X does, Magneto does and the humans do as well. Whether the perceive threat was real or not is a different matter all together. Regardless of which side one takes in this debate, one thing is clear: none of these people can claim moral superiority over one another, in cause or in methods.

Which is really the point exactly. Xavier clearly isn’t a “good guy” in this regard, as much as they try to paint him as such. Consider his ethics lesson early in the movie, where he debates the right and wrong of doing what he ends up doing at the end of the movie. He claims to have the moral high ground, but when push comes to shove, he chooses expediency to save his own ass (metaphorically speaking, of course).

Yep. Drained the energy from stellar cores, invariably causing the star to explode or collapse upon itself. One time, she ate a star that had a populated planet in its orbit. She killed 5 billion people in seconds.

G’night, FT!

Sleep tight. Don’t let Santa bite.

I agree. He makes decisions for people that affect their lives without allowing them to choose. If he were truly a good guy, he would either offer them a choice or trust in them to make the right choice all on their own.
