Why is the Fifth hiding?

She wasn’t a junior officer. She was XO! She was a major.

Wow.

Sorry Shiny. Of course, it could be incorrect, but, of course, it is correct.

Why is the Fifth still hiding? Easy…she owes Tigh 50 bucks.

I’m sorry I got carried away and forgot to use the tags. It’s not even a real spoiler because it’s never been confirmed.

And hey, you can’t really blame me. You specifically asked to know what the spoiler was and then he you went ahead and read what was inside the spoiler tags!

so ? :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah. I know. Just blame it on the Beaver

you’ve gotta get the hang of this–it’s “the Beav” e.g., “We’re in the gutter again? Must’ve been the Beav”

without the definite article, it’s just “Beaver” as in: “Beaver’s at it again!”

foreigners!

(kidding)

Not only has it never been confirmed - I cannot even remember where it came from. I only recall that it creeped me out.

A final note on Beaverdom, which I of course watched when the shows first aired - LD you analysis is totally correct. However, a fine point is that in the opening credits when the actors were introduced, it was “Jerry Mathers as The Beaver”. With 20 20 hindsight, pretty amazing.

It makes for great storytelling possibilities, though. Just imagine, how did Graystone ever become a hybrid? Was he so obsessed with artificial intelligence that he was looking for a way to get as close as possible to becoming a Cylon himself? Was it a kind of accident that left him no choice but cybernetics?

Just like Bruce Springsteen is “The Boss” and just “Boss.”

In the same vein, in the Bavarian dialect of German, we put the definite article in front of everything, even first names. So it’s like “the Jerry told me about what happened to the Jenny” and so on.

I know. If it is not the story line, it ought to be. How Rod Serling would have written it.

I like the titles - Herr Doctor Old Timer has a nice ring, even though I’m not an M.D.

Oh yeah, Germans and their titles. Everybody, literally EVERYBODY (me too, soon) who works for the government has a title or rank, civil servants, teachers, firemen, policemen. Teachers, for instance, have the exact same pay grades as military officers. In that way, there’s a lot of relics from the 19th century still around. The Austrians are even worse, though.

I think you misread my point. Just because we, the viewers, don’t have a lot of emotional investment in a minor or unseen character, doesn’t mean a major character we do don’t themselves. Witness Bill’s breakdown when he found out about Tigh. He really came apart. The revelation of the last Cylon will likely have repercussions through out the characters. To do that, it needn’t be someone we are invested in.

Most likely, it would be a real Cylon hater. Cally, for example, wouldn’t take being half Cylon very well. She’d probably go looking for a nuke. Of course she’s dead, eliminating her Dad. Starbuck handled Anders well. But her Dad might be too much for the poor girl. Especially if she’s never met him, making him virtual saint in her mind. Again, she’d probably go looking for a nuke.

Maybe, maybe not. Could also be someone completely unknown to either the audience or the characters. I’m starting to think that they deliberately withheld the reveal in 4.0 to work out a connection to Caprica. They just got to build some kind of bridge so that people will tune in when Caprica starts airing.

Well, let’s get back to basics. As discussed long ago, the missing person (the FC) in The Last Supper pic is plainly in the spot of Judas in DaVinci’s fresco.

Now, given that C6 is in the Christ position, is it safe to conclude that the FC will betray the Cylons - not the humans? Is any betrayal why redemption (per the OGG) is needed or is the betrayal the act of redemption?

Who better to betray the C7 - than one of their own? In fact for there to be betrayal, does it not have to be one of their own?

Naa, SciFi’d never do that! Would they?

I thought that was head six in the Christ position. (the red dress) We have no idea what she/it is at this point.

Sorry - I got my Cylon blonde bombshells confused. Otherwise … are we not still looking at the FC (Judas) to betray the Cylons - if we go with the DaVinci Last Supper analogy? And to betray them, don’t you have to be one of them? And is that not a means of redemption for participating in the deaths of billions of humans? As in REDEMPTION?

Hey look - it wasn’t my idea to run the darn ad. However, when we throw out ideas like Cally, Bill Adama, etc. being the FC are we not just ignoring a plain clue that we ought not to?

I know - this is old hat. But it may be old hat that has been to easily dismissed as crack pot.

Oh…i thought it was Natole…opps lol

If you want to go with crack pot theories… I just had a thought while reading that comment. Could one of the S7 in fact be the final cylon? Your idea about the destruction of humanity brought that to mind. I’m just free flowing here. Of the S7 I could see D’anna being the final cylon. Maybe she was apologizing to herself in Rapture. This line of thinking fits with OGG as the FC as well, if the spoiler holds true.

I’ve said that for weeks - to much ridicule my old friend. Remember exactly what D’Anna said - to the effect of - it’s one thing to know who the FF are, it’s another to know that you’re one of them. She was both baiting Roslin and talking about herself.
