According to RDM in his latest podcast,
it’s definitely not Daniel
.
Oh, I so want to read this spoiler, but I am restraining myself till after the finale. It’s got to be Daniel. Haven’t listened to RDM’s podcast yet, and now I think I’ll also wait on that till after the finale.
the spoiler isn’t anything anybody shouldn’t of known the moment Moore revealed that
Daniel is a main character in Caprica. I never bought for a second that Daniel was her Father for that reason. They would of then had to spend some of Caprica to explain how Kara came to be Daniels child, how it would be that Cavil wouldn’t know about it, how it is that Hera is so important if Kara is already a hylon.
I know allot of people believed it,but I just don’t think it would of made any sense for that to be the case. Kara is not a Cylon,or a Hylon, shes completely human. I think that just makes her story all that more mysterious and interesting.
Strikitrich’s spoiler doesn’t really surprise me because …
… even if Daniel was revealed to be Starbuck’s father, that still wouldn’t answer the question of who Kara 2.0 is, how she got a brand spanking new Viper, or how she had such a clear vision of her dad playing the piano in a way that would satisfy even the casual BSG viewer.

OK, it’s just a simple HTML tag to set it up.
Boy, while the writers rarely let anything happen by accident, I remain unconvinced that the piano playing Daniel and Daniel Greystone are the “same” character. The former is an “artist” and the latter is a scientist/engineer - not that the two are mutually exclusive, but you get the idea. Also, if the FF came to The Colonies to avert Cylon development and war, why would they model a S8 on the human that started the whole mess?
what you’re not getting is that the man playing the piano is not Daniel, it is Karas father, but it has nothing to do with Daniel at all. go listen to Moores podcast about the episode no exit. When Ellen says Daniel,Moore says hes a character in Caprica. Kara isn’t a Cylon, so we can assume the man playing the piano is a head character, not a projection.
Daniel is not a factor into the BSG storyline at all, according to Moore.
Correct - what I should have said is that I doubt the S8 Daniel was modeled by the FF on Daniel Greystone. Forget the piano player.
Correct, hes not modeled after him, because he is him. im guessing Cavil just wiped his memory and implanted him into society. he probably doesn’t even know what he is.
You say he was an artist, but you forget that Cavil changed his DNA, maybe hes not a artist anymore.
I’m lost. Attribute to advanced age.
dont worry bout it,I could be wrong, just the way im seeing it, as they say though, we will know the truth, in 4 days.
Agreed and if that question isn’t answered my head will explode.
Well, RDM did say that Daniel was not important. shrug
Although it should be noted that RDM can have an expanded definition of the truth when it comes to plot points. Although he seems sincere in the latest podcast.
You lost me at this point… who specifically, are you refering to about the memory wipe?
Daniel. but that only applys if he doesn’t know what he is in Caprica.
Umm, How could the Cylon Daniel = Daniel Graystone.
If the show Caprica occurs 50 years prior to BSG, and revolves around creating the cylons, I don’t see how they could be the same person.
The humanoid cylons were not created until after the Human / Cylon war. They were created by the FF who stopped the war in exchange for giving toasters the ability to create humanoid cylons.
Sooo…
Daniel Graystone beget Toaster. Toaster + FF beget humanoid cylons, one being Daniel. Don’t see how Daniel Graystone could be the Daniel mentioned in BSG then.
On that note, I am going to be pissed if Piano Man does not = Daniel, does not = Starbuck’s father. It explained sooo much, and made perfect sense. I don’t understand why RDM would waste an entire episode around what now amounts to a Red Herring. How else do you explain that her father ,who’s name starts with a D, and is a musician, taught mystical Kara the secret Cylon song. The song shared between her and the little Hylon. Head dad then shows up, at just the right time to remind her…oh yeah I taught you the secret cylon activation song when you were a child!. You are telling me that had NO significance? If it didn’t then why the flying frack would you even introduce the Daniel character?
… end nerd rage!
Wait. What?
My nerd rage is running high too…I’m not sure I’ll accept this as canon, personally. All the Daniel buzz got a little over the top, but some of it seemed to make the most sense out of any theories.
