I guess “technically” it would be possible - the Cents telling the FF that we want one of the skinjobs created in the image of our “father”- if, indeed, DG created the Cents, which seems likely, but which we do not know for certain.

(All we “know” right now is that DG created the original skinjobs - or job - his daughter Zoe. Would make sense that there were already Cents around, created by DG and his mega company, to serve as a basis for part of the tech to do so. But, I suppose it’s possible the Zoe work came first and served as part of the tech for the Cents. If DG & Co. built the Cents at all.)

I cant explain how Daniel is the Daniel in Caprica either, Im just going off what Moore said. you can all go hear it if you like in the no exit podcast.

[spoiler]When Daniel is brought up, the first thing he says is " Daniel has significance in Caprica" then we see the Caprica trailer and its based around a guy named daniel. I really doubt its a coincidence.He could be simply related to that Daniel, but Moore made it clear that Daniel is important in Caprica.
plus, Anders has already told us that John released the models on Caprica at different times, he introduced Sal first, he said. I dont think its ever been said how long ago Cavil killed the final 5, so it could be possible that the Daniel on Caprica 50 years ago is the Daniel model cylon.[/spoiler]

[spoiler]On that note, I am going to be pissed if Piano Man does not = Daniel, does not = Starbuck’s father. It explained sooo much, and made perfect sense. I don’t understand why RDM would waste an entire episode around what now amounts to a Red Herring. How else do you explain that her father ,who’s name starts with a D, and is a musician, taught mystical Kara the secret Cylon song. The song shared between her and the little Hylon. Head dad then shows up, at just the right time to remind her…oh yeah I taught you the secret cylon activation song when you were a child!. You are telling me that had NO significance? If it didn’t then why the flying frack would you even introduce the Daniel character?[/spoiler]

[spoiler]it doesn’t make perfect sense,because if Kara was a hylon then there would be no need for Hera and Cavil would know that because Kara would of resurrected when she died.

the song, the fact that her father taught it to her, they all have importance still,and will be explained, it just has nothing to do with Daniel. theres clearly another reason Karas dad knew that song and theres another reason why the song is connected to the final 5. [/spoiler]

Agreed. I personally think too much was being read into what was a less important comment in No Exit than some other things, but everyone has their own theories, and I’m famously inept at predicting things :slight_smile:

That all pretty much holds together. The idea of one of the S8 being modelled on the father of the Cylons (if that is what Daniel was) does not cause me to gnash my teeth nor rend my garments.

Starbuck’s backstory and her resurrection are some of the things I’m not really speculating about…not because I’m not interested. I just don’t want to overthink it before the finale to then be disappointed at the answer. Head six on the other hand…

And today, it’s now been confirmed by RDM himself on io9:

I usually don’t like to go out there and say, “Oh, that’s a bad theory,” because part of the enjoyment of watching the show is coming up with ideas. But this was gathering such momentum, I didn’t want people to be going into the finale and really be waiting for the Daniel shoe to drop, when there’s no shoe. It’s one of those things where you’re inside the show, [and] you look at it, and go one way. And then it’s broadcast, and an audience sees it, and then they seize on this piece that you never really anticipated, and then you’re sort of amazed. And you’re saying, “Slow down, no - come back.”

Ok, so I was one of those who was sure Daniel (apparently unimportant Daniel) was Starbuck’s father. Alright, so he wasn’t.

So her father, taught Kara a song, that had encoded in it, the way to “Earth-2” (our Earth)? I’ll keep reading more threads to see if this point has been discussed.
