Ya I think Daniel is Starbuck’s dad and I believe he’s still alive and had orchestrated Kara’s “Resurrection”. I think Daniel’s been waiting this whole time to end Cavil. However, if he is dead then Kara is his proxy in this story.
Starbuck’s dad is a great idea. We know that her dad was a musician, and Ellen said that he was creative. It fits.
After the 1’s (Cavel/John) killed Daniel and poisoned the line. Ellen recreated the 7’s as Female…Starbuck. Yes, she did this on her own with some “backup” equipment. which is what brought starbuck back when she died on Earf. (i still am not sure how she got a new viper.)
I totally agree, except I think Anders is the one who saved the Daniel line. And I don’t think Ellen knows this.
We’ve seen spoiler photos of an overhead shot where she is playing a piano with a man who is clearly not Bulldog. I think Daniel will revel himself.
Shall we suppose that Daniel is among them? If so start spitballing names of characters who could possibly be him.
He may be in the fleet, but he may not have been introduced yet to us. From the look of him in the picture I’d say the latter.
Maybe Daniel’s art was quirky. Restaurants shaped like food and the like.

I picked Starbuck but really think she is the kid of Daniel.
Since there’s no “none of the above” I will not be voting.
I’ll venture in a totally nutty idea. Let’s suppose Daniel is indeed Starbuck’s dad.
But, from what I gathered from Cavil and Ellen’s conversation, Daniel was destroyed prior to him becoming a physical being.
Enter LEOBEN.
Leoben had been nuts over Starbuck for the entire series (well, until he ran away from her), and we’ve never had a full on explanation of why, other than Leoben is bat crazy and slightly pervy, if the old speculation that Leoben is Starbuck’s dad thing is any indication.
Well, maybe Leoben sort of is Starbuck’s dad. Let’s say Cavil did indeed destroy the genetic whatnots of Daniel before he could come to be. One of the Leobens found out about that (he is the second oldest brother of the bunch, and has that crazy philosophical vibe about him. I’d imagine he’d side with Ellen on a lot of things), and tried to salvage Daniel unsuccessfully. So, he downloads makings of Daniel into himself. Affected by this strange combination, this particular Leoben/Daniel (LeoDan) stayed in the colonies after the war, meets Starbuck’s mom, yada yada yada, Starbuck is born.
LeoDan dies at some point, (and before leaving Starbuck, created some kind of portal hole/resurrection thingy for Starbuck to explain all the vipers and Starbucks. Yes, I do not have any theories on that) and somehow didn’t resurrect, but his Leodan-ness and incomplete memories of his daughter got into the Leoben memory database. That fraks up Leoben’s database, enter bat crazy Leoben with weird obsession with Starbuck.
So, when we do see Starbuck’s dad, maybe we’ll see Leoben’s face.
Daniel will be Starbuck’s father. And if he turns out to be someone we know, perhaps Romo??

Wow, that is my kind of crack theory. 
And it sounds vaguely like BSG-style crack too, so who knows? I wouldn’t be disappointed if it were true.
I wouldn’t bet on it. I have a terrible track record in my theories. They’re ALWAYS wrong. But at least, hopefully, fun enough for a read.
