2008 should be a great year for movie goers! Of all the movies coming out this summer which one are you most looking forward to?
The top three for me: Iron Man, Indy, and the Dark Knight. I love Ed Norton, but still feeling it from the last Hulk. Meh on Speed Racer and X-Files. Hancock, OK. Sex and the City, Ahem.
Since I have to choose, I’m going with Indy.
I agree: Iron Man, Indy and The Dark Knight.
And no, I’m not choosing. Although in a month I should be able to choose the movie I’m looking forward to the most quite easily.
I am huge Batman fan—when I was 5 years old my mom made a Batman birthday cake for me for my birthday. And when I turned 40, my wife made a batman cake for a surprise b-day party. But all that said, I must say I’m looking forward most to Indy.
there’s no baltar option…
but seriously now, here’s my list:
- Indy (need i say more?)
- Dark Knight (nearly a tie with Indy though)
- Iron Man (would probably be tied with Dark Knight had i been into in Iron Man before seeing the trailers oh so long ago)
- Speed Racer (i was kinda timid when i first heard about this, but come on, it’s the Wachowskis, and the trailers look good)
- Hancock (i’m always up for a good will smith vehicle and/or a skewed view on super heroes)
- The X-Files (i was a bit young to be a hardcore fan of the show at the time, but i enjoyed many of the stand alone episodes, so i’m looking forward to this)
- Hulk (didn’t see the first one, though the trailer for this one is good. i’m a bit worried though with those rumored conflicts between edward norton and the producers)
–Sex and the City (never watched the show, not really interested at all)
I can’t choose…there are so many frakking many.
I picked The Dark Night - just because I’m eager to see Heath Ledger’s portrayal of The Joker.
For reals! That is going to be extra weird and creepy.
Yeah - his death adds a whole other level of creepy on top of the (from what I hear) already creeptastic performance.
Also REALLY excited to see Iron Man…squeeee
As am I. Really huge.
This should have been a multiple options poll, cause I can’t decide between Dark Knight and Indy.
Anyone got any Indy Lego toys yet? Are they cool? I’d die for a Indy Lego figure but I’m reluctant to buy a whole set.
Oh, and I just was reminded that Heath Ledger is in Dark Knight–his last movie.
So now I’m really torn between Indy and Batman.
I picked Indy b/c I love me some Harrison Ford but I am also very excited about Dark Knight and IronMan. The Dark Knight b/c I loved the latest in the series more true to the original comic and less of the Adam West in tights craaaap. IronMan b/c I actually really like Robert Downy Jr. as an actor. But in the end it had to Indiana Jones. B/c I abso-frakkin-lutely loved all of the movies and the tv series with Sean Patrick Flannery (best movie to date Boondock Saints and I will hear nothing otherwise!!!).
Also it goes along with my theory that Shia Lebouf has sold his soul or something b/c he’s like the coolest geek that ever geeked. He got to be in Constantine,Transformers, and now Indiana Jones…
Pixar’s WALL-E! 06/27/2008
And don’t forget the 08/15/2008 theatrical release of the intro to the new Star Wars TV series,
Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Being an animation geek, I’m looking forward to these more than anything else.
Oh, and though it’s not scifi, Kung Fu Panda looks fun too.
It has to be Indy over the SATC girls. He’s much better eye candy. I think the Dark KNight has promise. I saw the trailer before Heath Ledger died and his performance was frightening. A twisted joker is always best.
Why wasn’t Mamma Mia in the poll? Some of us geeks love musicals too.
i’m glad to see they figured out how to arrange around his untimely death.
I voted Indy! but then remembered hearing a lot of great things about Heath Ledger in Dark Knight. So, both!
indy on the big screen again–should be fun.
Ok i was going say Iron Man but say that today so had to Hancock! that looks funny as anything and cheesy and man I love that stuff… yea yea I know I am one who likes great sci fi and bad sci fi its soo bad its good!
I saw Iron Man today & it was SO good. I’m not a comic book fan (just never got into them) but I LOVED it! My son and I went to see it with his friend and the friend’s dad. The dad isn’t an event-movie kind of guy and definitely not a sci-fi geek. He was really just not very “with it.” He wasn’t looking forward to going but was taking his son to be nice. Well, even he got up afterward and said “That was better than I thought.” Of course, I would have liked to respond, “Are you kidding me?! That frakkin’ rocked, dude” but I already think he thinks I’m kind of strange for actually WANTING to see the movie. Two thumbs up (mine and my son’s) for Iron Man.
I’m also looking forward to seeing Indy and Speed Racer. So many exciting movies, not enough $$$$.
