Some options for myself (though I feel terribly self conscious doing so but still…)
Copihue
Ondulais
Saffron
I’m most partial to Ondulais as it’s most personal - it’s a joke with my in-laws about my hair.

Maybe it would be easier if we just said “Hey !” and hoped for the best.
GalaxyRanger : I’m good with that. But you realize that we got to behave like gentlemen when Racetrack comes along?
Are you kidding ? That’s when we all start talking about your Rash.
Saffron sounds awesome and seems to be the most easiest to pronounce for your fellow pilots.
Frakkin Tiberius, frakkintalos, FT works. Or just go with KHHHHAAAAANNNNN!! I’ll answer.
You’re probably right… I’m in major between languages zone right now
though ondulais isn’t hard to say: on-due-LIE
“Hey you! Yeah you, with the face! Come here!”
Ah, I loved doing that back in the days as a TL.
Then I’d send them out with a trash bag, and tell them I wanted an exhaust sample…
…memories
See, I would have guessed AHN-djew-lay -
Would you like to use “Showtime” ? Nobody has taken that yet.
TL?
I bet you loved Snipe Hunts too, didn’t you ??
What Icebox meant to say was “Saffon sounds tasty, IYKWIM”.
You’re such a perve, Beave.
i am also called mooby
Sorry, I have a bad habit of abbreviating and assuming people know what I am talking about.
Team leader, though more often not squad leader or platoon sergeant. But I still got paid as a TL.
Hehe. A tasty beaver.
You’re such a perve, Beave.
Yeah, I know, Daddy’s gonna slap me.
Lucky,
I remember you saying you were in the Service. But could you refresh my memory? What branch, etc.?
Not sure what you are talking about. Snipe hunts?
Hey it’s all cool though, I was gotten with “go find a box of grid squares.”
Edit: which I later repaid by asking a green LT to find a box of “road guards.” LOL.
Edit 2: @ thot—it was Army, as a sapper, though that all ended a few years back. Now I am the oldest college student in my classes.
Now, I’ve acquired a wide variety of military terms from all kinds of movies and books (I avoided the draft myself), but I had never heard Team Leader/TL before. Is that like a squad leader or a level above?
Snipe Hunt : In the dark, you send out a bunch of clueless newbies into the woods with canvas bags, their aim to catch ‘snipe’, supposedly some type of bird like a grouse or something…they run around for an hour while you laugh and tell them which way to go to once in awhile…
Squads are composed of two teams of 3-4 men run by a team leader—typically a corporal or sergeant. The squad is run by a squad leader—typically a staff sergeant. 3-4 squads make up a platoon—typically run by a platoon sergeant. 3-4 platoons make up a company—run by a captain and first sergeant. 3-4 companies make up a battalion—typically run by a Lieutenant Colonel and a Sergeant Major. Several battalions make up a brigade—run by a command sergeant major and full bird colonel.
Never even heard of it…I take it this happened to you?
Liucky, Were you in the Army or the Marines? (I think they have roughly the same rank and unit structure?).
I guess now the big trend in the Army now is converting from a Division-based structure to a BCT (Brigade Combat Team) structure.
Army, as a sapper, and yes the structure is more or less similar, but there are differences.
As far as the BCT you are talking about, that is actually a large part of why I got out, but believe me that is one long story I will just leave alone.
