What podcasts (besides GWC) do you listen to?

My favorite show is no longer on the air: Penn Radio (Penn Jillette from Penn & Teller)

Since that ended I’ve been really looking for something to fill the void.:frowning:

I’ve listened to the first four episodes and I’ll give it an “ehh…”
It’s good to have a podcast that has the latest Sci.Fi. news in a semi-timely manner,
But,
All of the cast members speak way too fast, they are trying way to hard to be funny and are not suceeding, and none of them seem to have any clue about science.
I’ll continue to listen to it because I don’t hate it, but if it disappeared I wouldn’t miss it.
It reminds me too much of the “Wacky Morning DJ” at <Insert local radio station here>.

Well, I think my list will be the least similar to the rest of the group. I, too, tend to listen while working and most of my podcasts are weekly and new shows are posted Friday-Sunday, so Monday is a heavy listening day.

Here’s the list:
The ForceCast
GWC
The Great Gildersleeve Replay-old radio show from the 40s (an episode was broadcast Dec. 7, 1941, so the news bulletins about Pearl Harbor are included)
GWC DTA
Inside the Magic-Walt Disney World-related (you’ll see a trend very soon!)
Mouse Guest Weekly-Disney related
Netcot-irreverent WDW-related
Tiki Bar TV
The WDW Radio Show
WDW Today
The 10th Wonder
12 Byzantine Emperors-excellent history

I used to listen to Mugglecast every week, but after Book 7 came out, I’m not as interested in the podcast.

Certainly a bit of a different list, I think.

Well my list does change but below are the ones I always listen too.

GWC
Galactica Quorum
House Of El (SHOE) “Smallville Podcast”
Slice of Sci Fi
RDM BSG Podcast
Firefly Talk
Scapecast
The Watchercast (Buffy Podcast)
Undead America (Buffy Podcast)

I have a Honda Element, which has a cute little plug for my ipod. I listen to podcasts during the morning commute.

Besides Galactica Watercooler, I only listen to a few others.

Girls Gone Geek
Firefly Talk
The Signal
Organization Station
Zencast

Lately, I’ve been fond of podiobooks.com. They take free audiobooks, often by unsigned authors, and distribute them as podcasts. You can set how often you want updates (daily, weekly, etc.) and they’ll send them out on your schedule (assuming that the author is that far ahead of you.) There aren’t any ads, the site and the authors split any contributions they get. The most popular ones tend to get picked up by publishers.

Currently, I’m listening to “Singularity” by Bill DeSmedt (hard SF, slow first chapter but worth plowing ahead with, think Niven meets Clancy) and “Playing for Keeps” by Mur Lafferty (lighter, superhero/SF/cyberpunk.) The latter one has its own site (playingforkeepsnovel.com) that has other podcasting options.

Pike - checkout the 7th Son trilogy by JC Hutchins and the Quarter Share/Half Share/Full Share series by Nathan Lowell if you haven’t already! I’ve also listened to The Arwen series by Nathan Callahan and Star Surgeon by Allan Nourse and enjoyed those. I will admit, I’ve even listed to some of the “childrens” fantasy-type books from there. I’ve found that there are a lot of good books out there - just a few duds here and there!

Good to see some fellow Skeptic’s Guide listeners here. I listen to / watch:

Bad Astronomy: Q & BA
Mr. Deity (EVERYONE needs to check this out)
Onion News Network
Point of Inquiry
Real Time w/ Bill Maher
The Skeptic’s Guide to the Universe
Scientific American’s 60-Second Science

I used to listen to the Firefly and Farscape casts, but they just don’t do anything for me anymore, and I don’t have the time to listen to longer casts like those very often.

I listen to the British podcasts from Simplysyndicated.com. The remind me of a less-refined version of the GWC 'cast.

Movies You Should See (about, well, movies you should see…)
Make It So (A great Trek cast…)
The Definitive Word (a topical discussion that wanders off topic)

These are worth your time, but be aware they can get a little raw.

I listen to way to much Sirius Satellite. But even that gets boring from time to time. So luckily I have an ipod that gets me through the work week.
My favorite podcast are
This American Life
retroCRUSH
Logically Critical (just ended)
Le Show (Harry Shearer from Spinal Tap and The Simpsons)
KCRW The Treatment with Elvis Mitchell
Learn Spanish with Coffee Break Spanish
Mormon Stories
NPR Things I Believe
On The Media
Studio 360
SModcast
The Onion Radio News

I found a fairly new Galactica podcast on iTunes today, Galactica Dradis. I’ve only listened to a couple of episodes so far but they are pretty good. The 3 hosts are actors and fairly new fans of the show so it’s interesting to hear their thoughts. They are funny too with special features of Outstanding Extra(now Nugget) of the episode they are talking about.

Anywho, I’ve enjoyed their 'cast so far, thought some of you guys would too.

So, I’ve been listening to the Adam Carolla for about two months now and really, really enjoying it. If you just want to try one, pick the one where he is interviewing Seth MacFarlane…it is brilliant. I consistently find Adam completely honest, straightforward and calling craaaaaaaaap the way it is.

If you haven’t already, I highly recommend it.
