What other Podcasts do you listen to?

That has to break some vows somewhere on their list, doesn’t it?
I too, have to try this one out. The website looks awesome (not like, graphically designed and slick awesome, just holy-craaaap-two-nuns-are-posting-about-MMOs awesome).

Edit: Um…that’s a woman? Sounds, uh, gruff.

If Slice of Sci-Fi is not on your regular rotation (and why the hell not?) you need to listen to their 195th episode. Seriously.

Why are you not downloading?!

Em, you should do a podcast about listening to 120 podcasts. Rock the meta.

I thought I would just provide an updated list to the podcasts I currently listen to, since its been almost a year since I last posted in this thread.

GWC
The Babylon Podcast
Slice Of Sci-Fi & Voicemail Show
Ron Moore’s Offical Podcast
Gateworld.net Interviews
Never Not Funny
NPR: Car Talk
NPR: Wait Wait, Don’t Tell Me
The Onion Radio News
SmodCast

Video
Galacticast
Onion News Network
Dilbert Animated Cartoons

I have more then doubled the number of casts I listen to in the last year. Sweet!

Someone should just collect her calls to other podcasts and then podcast that…

I’m listening to a good mix of especially sports and tv show podcasts.

Sports:
AllSpeedway TV
ESPN: Radio daily, Thundering Herd, Around the Horn and PTI
What the Buc, fan radio about my Tampa Bay Buccaneers
the Buccaneers official multimedia network
Wolvescast, official Minnesota Timberwolves podcast

TV:
Galactica Quorum and of course GWC. I’m subrscribed to several other BSG podcasts as well but most of them seem to be inactive durikng the hiatus.
BTR: Trueblood.net
Official Eureka podcast
Fringe Podcasting network
A couple of Heroes podcasts, gspn’s, the Company, the 9th (my two favorites) and the 10th wonder. Loved Emily’s the 3 Heroes podcast as well, but unfortunately that one is now cancelled.
The Shadowy Flight and Knight Rider online
the Lost Podcasting Network, the ODI and the Lost Initiative
The official Life on Mars podcast
Wizard’s Rule, about the Sword of Truth book series and the tv show Legend of the Seeker, based on the books
Survivor fans podcast
RFFRadio - reality tv podcast

Religion:
gspn.tv, about the Church
Watermark community Church podcast

Books:
The Stephen King Book Club, just subscribed today but unfortunately new episodes are few and far between

StarShipSofa.com

Which should have another story by me (Church H. Tucker) up Wednesday. The bonus here is that this one is narrated by Z from Hipster, Please!

I just started listening to

RebelFM (the fallout from the 1up.com fireings)

and

FrontLines which is a Clone Wars podcast

I listen to

GWC
Gateworld
Temptation A Twilight Fan Fiction Podcast
Twilighters Anonymous Podcast

I saw most of you have a long list of pOdcasts you listen to I have been looking for other ones.

If the energy levels in her calls to other podcasts are anything like those to GWC, then I fear the listener’s brain would melt… you’d have to intersperse some Solai measured calm otherwise anyone listening to EmiliesPodcastCallsCast would start acting like my dog after eating a mint (for some reason my dog’s metabolism can’t cope with mints and they act like some crazy dog-specific form of PCP).

Not that I’m complaining, I’d rather hear an Emily call in than the circle-jerk guy from around #100 (though that was funny)

<edit>
Oh… and right now I still haven’t caught up on the 'cast so its just GWC for me right now.

So, all in all, what would you recommend as the best podcast for LOST? After just watching the season premiere (WOO!) and having a sense that the writers are finally down to the nitty and gritty sci fi stuff, I think I’ll need a podcast to help deciphering everything and/or reminding me things/people/events I’ve forgotten in past seasons.

So, if I were only to listen to one LOST themed podcast, which one would be the most informative, entertaining with lots of good theory posturing? I guess, would something like GWC for LOST be too much too ask for?

Thanks!

The only Lost one I listen to is The Lost Podcast with Jay and Jack. They’re funny. They have a more segmented style, doing weekly recap, listener feedback, and theory segments, but they aren’t all stuffy and formal. (And that would also be the place where I first heard Emily from Ohio.)

StarshipSofa (of which I a big fan, and occasional contributer) have released podcasts for all seven of the current Nebula Nominees. The iTunes round up is here, but go to starshipsofa.com for the direct MP3 or Streaming links.

You might have seen this on BoingBoing or io9 today.

Hi! I am curious what other podcasts are good to listen to out there, I only listen to GWC (Love the Podcast!) and I know there are others out there.

Try the Other Podcasts thread.

THank you! I didnt see that thread. You can delete this post if you want to.

New ones that i have found semi recently

For Gaming purposes i really like

RebelFM
GiantBombcast
and the NPR worthy A Life Well Wasted

For all around geek podcasts

GeekBox

and for movies i have recently really gotten into

/filmcast.

They are all available on iTunes

I’m so going to have to backread and add more to my list…

I’ve been listening to:
The ForceCast: TheForce.net’s podcast, complete with extras and discussions.
Ron Moore’s BSG commentary: Sadly, not updated since the series finale.
SModcast: Kevin Smith and Scott Mosier talking sh*t, as was mentioned earlier :stuck_out_tongue:
A Podcast of Ice and Fire: An irreverent, meandering, borderline obscene discussion/reread group for George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” books.
XM Comedy Stand Up Sit Down: Hasn’t updated in about a year, but it was interviews with comedians including John Cleese, Patton Oswalt, Tommy Chong, and George Carlin.
Around Comics: Discussion of comics, and occasional interviews with writers/artists.
Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History: More than slightly bombastic discussion of historical events, my favorite of which is speculating on how different history might have been had historical figures not been drugged/drunk/otherwise imparied the night before events.
Mike Duncan’s History of Rome: Ongoing recap of the history of Rome from Romulus through the fall.
12 Byzantine Emperors: The finished recap of the history of the Byzantine Empire from Constantine I onward.
Classic Tales: A guy whose name I can’t remember reads short stories–Sherlock Holmes, Jeeves & Wooster, and “Bartleby” by Herman Melville are just a few.
The Sound of Young America: Interviews with cool people.

There’s a few other random history and science ones I listen to on occasion, but not often enough to remember them. Huh, and I need to see if there’s any worthwhile paranormal/supernatural/cryptozoology ones out there.

I know Pike brought up the first one (and don’t know if this second set has been mentioned), but recently Wizards of the Coast did another series with Penny Arcade and PvP, and they were joined by Wil Wheaton. It really made me wish I knew some people who were into D&D. But, anyhoo, I think it was even funnier this time around. You can find the first episode for the second set here.

Ah, thanks for the reminder about that. On one of his BSG Finale podcasts RDM said they’d be posting recordings of Writers Meetings when they developed the Finale story (it was originally gonna be significantly different if I recall).
