What other Podcasts do you listen to?

You bastard. I downloaded all of these on your recommendation and made a fool of myself on my commute this morning. I was literally howling with laughter or turning purple trying not to howl with laughter.

I have learned you have to watch them all the way through, as they occassionaly sneak little things into the credits, “Brought to you by Jessica Biel”

Also, in case you were wondering the director, “Mike J Nichols” is not “Mike Nichols” of The Graduate fame. I can’t find a record for “Mike J Nichols” but he may be the guy credited for making, “The Phantom Edit”

Woot.

Exxxxxxxcellent.

He is indeed the Phantom Editor.

Do you miss Michael Dawson? Don’t get me wrong I love Tristan and Rich but it just doesn’t feel right without Mike.

Now that you mention it…they did start out as a trio, didn’t they. Huh, I like totally forgot. It’s an entertaining podcast, and I like hearing an English perspective, but to be honest, Tristan and Rich aren’t really all that knowledgable about Trek. They really got TNG down but are pretty ignorant about DS9 and TOS…and they absolutely detest Voyager and Enterprise.

My list has been weeded down over the last few months, but my current podcast subscriptions include:

[li]GWC (obviously)
[/li][li]BSG Official Cast
[/li][li]Secrets of Battlestar Galactica
[/li][li]Official Lost Podcast
[/li][li]Jay and Jack (I only listen to their Lost podcasts, though)
[/li][li]The Onion Radio News
[/li][li]YourGeekNews.com + The BSGcast

[/li][li]The Official LOST Podcast

I wanna add another once I don’t have about 30 more GWC podcats to catch up with.

Yeah I know they get much flack for that. I just really miss Mike’s input.

Here is my current podcast list:

Another good one is GeekCred. I keep forgetting about it b/c it’s published very irregularly, but the quality is pretty high. Each 'cast is an interview with some noteable geek. Scott Sigler, MC Frontalot, and Randal Schwartz have all been on there.

IYKWIM?

A new edition to my podcast collection is “The Moth” I would highly recommend it. Basically a person is given 10 minutes to tell a story without notes. Notably Neil Gaiman told a story, but the storytellers aren’t necessarily famous…they just have good stories.

Definitely check it out.

The Takeover” by Mur Lafferty et al. The best corporate zombie audio drama I’ve heard all month. Currently on hiatus (due to Mur promoting her “Playing for Keeps” book) but a great time to catch up.

And (though I mentioned it a while back) I’ll recomend Mur Lafferty’s Heaven series of podio books. Book one here.

Ok not really a podcast (well it is as well) but I try and listen to, at least a little bit of, Coast to Coast AM every night. For those who don’t know its on from 1 am to 5 am East coast time (some stations rebroadcast the previous nights show from 10 to 1). The shows are usually themed for the night normally talking about things such as UFO’s, the Occult, Conspiracy Theories, Ghosts, Bigfoot, Secret Societies, Time Travelers…etc. Its a fun show sometimes a bit loony but sometimes a bit scary (for those like me with a way over active imagination whose mind always forms images of what i read or hear, which is why the gutter thread is particularly amusing/astonishing/horrifying to me)

I adore Mur Lafferty. I despised The Takeover. I just couldn’t get into it for some reason. And don’t you think Mur’s voice is very similar to Audra’s?

My other favorite podiobooks are the “Share” series by Nathan Lowell. So far there have been Quarter Share, Half Share, Full Share, and Double Share along with a side-trip book called South Coast. I’d read at least the first 2 “Share” books before I read South Coast - there’s some stuff that crosses over!

It can be a little confusing b/c of the multiple characters.

And don’t you think Mur’s voice is very similar to Audra’s?

Not until you mentioned it, but yeah, it is.

Not all the time, mind you, but sometimes she says something and I’m like “When did Audra start recording audiobooks?”

So true.
I wanted to mention it a long time ago, but I didn’t think people here had listened to any of the Murverse.
Again, silly me.
