Ooh, I gotta check that one out!
Big Thanks!!! I didn’t even know about this. I love these guys.
GWC - obviously… to the extent of going back and relistening, starting from #1 (long off season for BSG :D)

The Signal
Though the honest truth is the I can’t be arsed keeping up on most of them, which is good because it means I have major backloggage during long journeys.
Let me know what you think! It is definitely one of my favorites. If you have lots of time they have a great forum community also through Kevin Smith’s website viewaskew.com
I listened to the most recent one with Jason Mewes from when they were filming “Zack and Miri”- Funny! I wish they’d update, now!
LOL! I’m listening to yesterday’s (though recorded at the end of January) “Doctor Who: Podshock”, and guess who’s the first caller? Emily from Ohio! You’re everywhere, girl!
But I must agree with your comments. Christopher Eccleston was also my first Doctor and I will always adore him! (And since you mentioned that liking him in “Heroes” led you to “Doctor Who”, have you seen Revenger’s Tragedy? That’s where I first fell for him.)
Apollymy,
I haven’t watched any Doctor who past the 2nd season --(or whatever season ended with Rose Tyler parting ways with the Doctor). And it wasn’t because of any lack of interest, just didn’t keep up with it. Has the show stayed good since then? I’ll have to check out that Dr. W: Podshock cast too. When did they start (what Who season)?
(Ironically I’m always watch Heroes for the first time on DVD, and I’ve just gotten to the episode where Chris Ecceleston first appears…well, if “appears” is a word that even applies in his case.)
Well, Thotfull, you’re only a season behind. The 4th season just started (in the UK) on Sat. It’s supposed to start here in a couple weeks. (Though I did find the season premiere online.)
The first season will always be my favorite, but I thought the 3rd season was really good. (One of the 3rd season episodes, Blink, is probably one of the creepiest hours of TV I’ve ever seen. I really didn’t want to close my eyes after that one.) I liked Rose, so I wasn’t sure if I was gonna like Martha (season 3 companion), but eventually, I did. Now, I’m in the same position with Donna (season 4).
The episode of the podcast I mentioned was #108. I only started listening recently, though, but I guess it goes back to the beginning of series one in 2005.

Out There Radio
Now, if you’ve never heard/listened to Out There Radio, you are truly missing out. 2 students (one now graduated) broadcasting from “their secret lair” at the University of Georgia. Very well-informed, huge array of topics ranging from the occult, conspiracy theory, aliens, etc. all well-researched, well thought out, and they never lose their sense of humor about it all. Funny and thought provoking without feeling like someone is trying to convince you of anything. For example, one of their most recent shows: “The Eternal Pagan Psychodrama.” Awesome.

Thanks Apollymy. Well, now I all I need is a zillion extra hours in the day to catch up on all these great shows. If I had the ability to stop time—ala Hiro in Hereos----I would use it to stop time and watch DVDs of TV shows like S3 Dr. Who…

Oooh! Oooh! I found a good one, and it’s totally geekgasmtastic:
This American Life turned me on to this radio show, RadioLab, which podcasts most of its shows. A (thankfully) disproportionate number of them are about the human mind/brain and music.
Episodes and podcasts here:

It’s not like This American Life, but sorta compatibly similar, in an accessible-science kinda way. Really creative audio editing, too. Different.
POPSCI cast!
Featuring: our very own Chuck Cage!!!
Check it out everyone! GWC represent!
I am loving the PopSci pod cast with Chuck … The last one on ATV motorized skateboards was AWESOME!!
I’m glad Chuck got to share his other interests to a different kind of audience! He’s getting more mainstream! Yeah!
Whut? They have thirty-six episodes now?
Wow. clicks
Thanks, Pike!
And Audra as Ed McMahon!
(everyone under 30 goes, “Huh?”)
PS oops, quoted the wrong post: Audra as ed in Tool Talk, not PopSci
After reading this thread all I can say is soooo many podcasts not enough time.
Also is RDM going to continue the BSG podcast commentary? I haven’t seen one drop yet!
I think we’re all waiting for the RDM/Official BSG podcast to update!
