Walking Dead - TV - General Discussion

Walking Dead seems to break down the “geek” wall for all the “normies.” It’s got enough action and gore to excuse tough guys for watching what is ultimately a fantasy world.

I’m lucky that my boss is a huge TV nerd. He doesn’t care what it’s about, he just cares if it’s good TV. My Monday work routine now includes, almost immediately when my shift starts, a 10 minutes (minimum) of in depth discussion about the previous night’s episode whenever Walking Dead is running.

Thinking that it was a brilliant move to pick up exactly where we left off. The horror of that final scene last year just comes right back and smacks you in the head again instantly. The writers of this show (and the actors) are really firing on all cylinders. Great episode and what a start to newest batch of episode! excited!
PS: I just watched The Talking Dead, which is the aftershow hosted by our buddy Chris Hardwick. They played a little clip of next week’s ep. And, uh, those two dbags in the bar scene? Looks like they had a bunch of friends waiting outside. And they’re a little POed now.
I’m just now getting caught up on the current season, and all I can say is WOW. Can’t wait to discuss with other GWCers at the meetup!

I have several students on campus (I work in a high school library) who watch Walking Dead, but had never heard of World War Z, which, by some crazy coincidence, is the student book club (aka The Not Your Mother’s Book Club Book Club) pick for May. (Wonder who picked that?- ha)

Anyway, the appeal of the show does indeed cross-over.

This Alternate Ending by Jon Bernthal would have been really great and for me more dramatic and believable.
