Tory became a monster quicker than I thought

there’s a pretty sizable Billy-loving contingent in this community. for many of us, he justifies our blinding hatred of Dee

Gasp! Billy! Let me give you a pipe!

Nah, we’re not innocent - we love it! We’re masochists all…

I think that we shall learn that when the 4/5 “die” that’s it - no more. Billy has gone on to that big bureacracy in the sky. He was human.

I’m not sure I buy that. I guess it depends on how old the Final Five really are. I think they might be hundreds, if not thousands, of years old.

Oh come on, you guys, you’re to be envied! I hear his grandma’s recipe for apple strudel is hella excellent!

I’m sorry I don’t mean to say that I don’t like Billy, I do/did. He was a sweet kid, but I think the time for the innocent young man is over. I’m not crazy about Dee, but she seems to be the only person who got what they deserved so I don’t hold too much against her.

Tory is just going off the deep end, here.

wtf? Now she’s a balcubine?

She’s just looking for justification to be a jerk!

I’m sorry guys- I just can’t like her.

I don’t know. Plucking hairs from his head and getting Baltar to say “I like you better when you were crying.” definitely makes me like her more, despite the whole homicidal thing. She’s the only final four to be ‘taking charge’, and that’s a whole lot better than nothing.

No worries… I just find the character fascinating. And to be honest, I don’t actually like any of my favorite characters. Let’s see what crazy/horrible/random thing Tory does next week :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, I don’t like her much either. She was hotter when she had bed hair and was resolved to steal the election from the B-man.

And now she’s a zealot, too? I’d just like a bit less screen time for Tory. She doesn’t fit for me. Irks me out of the story a little.

I really hope my opinion changes. I have a palpable antipathy for the character. Don’t know why.

might have something to do with the fact that she killed Cally

i too am not fond of tory or feel much for her lack of morality…but i think it is because of her acting…i think the storyline for tory makes sense- somewhat amoral political advisor with no family or friends becomes a totally amoral religious zealot…honestly, i think the zealotry is just another self-serving move on her part. it absolves her of feeling guilt for her actions.

i sort of wish dee was one of final 5 …i think that actress would have done a much better and even scarier transformation…

I don’t think so. She’s never really said she buys what Baltar is preaching, but she does want to influence it. If you ever watched Bill Maher on HBO you’ve seen how he comes right out and says he isn’t a Christian, but he still likes to point out how it’s utterly twisted to turn a hippy, liberal commie like Jesus into an icon of the Republican party or note that there doesn’t seem to be much biblical justification for gun ownership, lower taxes, anti-abortion and war.

One doesn’t have to believe in theological concepts to understand their impact on other people’s lives.

That, and I don’t think the writers are going to blame Tory’s religious beliefs for her murderous actions. That seems like a cop out. She made a cold-blooded and rational choice in blowing Cally out of the airlock fully motivated by a desire to keep her secret.

At best, I think she’s a curious agnostic about Baltar’s religion at the moment.

I’m still in a state of denial about Cally’s … disappearance…

I’m of the opinion that she believes. Previously, she had an image of herself as a political operative and as an agent of the state or Roslin the great leader. Perhaps she was a vastly more palitable Dolores Umbridge. Discovering she’s a Cylon seems to have set her adrift from her rather flimsy moorings and now she’s latched onto Baltar. I suppose my point is that she’s always been dangerous, just properly directed by Roslin. Now she’s under Baltar’s guidance and getting way scary.

LOL!

Thou knowest me too well, I think…

Piiiipe! Where’s my pipe!?

I hate to bag on the actors of the show, but that may be a bit of what is off-putting to me. I don’t think enough goes on in her face.

Michael Hogan can do more with an eyebrow, much less the one eye, and to be grouped with him and Aaron Douglas, well it’s just not fair, is it? Trucco’s role suits so well- I don’t have such a hard time with him.

Damn. Wanna support the gal, just can’t stand the character, or her portrayal, I guess? Don’t know.

I do know that Tory needs a piping!

I agree that Michael Hogan is a phenomenal actor…if he doesn’t have 300 shows lining up to hire him after BSG, something’s seriously wrong.
I must say that I think Aaron’s ramped-up performances lately are pretty good though, he seems to be doing well with the yelling and brooding, imho.
I’ve never been a fan of Tory, but I’ll say that I’m buying the actress alot more in the ‘mysterious/malevolent’ portrayal she has now, more so than as the Prez’s girl friday.
And yes, when the piping comes for Tory, I shall be in line. Please hold a spot for me. (We’re talking beatings here, GR…)
