Theory: Daniel = Starbuck

well now it definitely seems that starbuck and hera are intertwined… perhaps when starbuck died her concisousness melded with hera’s or something.

two questions from the episode:

  1. is starbuck’s father daniel?
  2. did roslin die???

maybe because Daniel was one of the original Cylons, while Hera is a child of the 2nd generation cylons.

I thought Daniel was a 2nd gen cylon, too - seven to Athena’s eight? Or did I miss that, too?

Nope - that’s correct.

I think she isn’t quite dead yet, but soon. There has to be a good-bye scene with Adama. Unless they both die at the same time.

Real soon - like maybe next episode. That would explain the picture now at the Skiffy BSG site and “something” that was shown in the preview. Also, there’s nothing left for her character to do but die. I bet we get an “answer” or two in the process, however.

The Old Man will be around for a while yet. Starbuck may be the more pivotal character, but EJO is still the “star”. Not that he necessarily will make it to the last hour.

True… her “character mission” is pretty much fulfilled… ever since the Quorum was executed, she really hasn’t had anything to do, except live in Bill’s office and read. Kinda sucks for Mary McDonnell, but her story’s pretty much over.

If some cylons can reproduce then they might be able to express their genetic messages visually somehow, like hera did to starbuck.that links them to all the cylons. hera and starbuck could be half human half cylon. and both threats to the resurrecting cylons. which is why starbuck is a harbinger of doom to them and hera was taken…

good theory?! especially with the Daniel piano link?

hummm i’ll have to watch the preview again, i must of missed something. i suspect the opera house will play out in the next ep and that will be the end of roslin.

i think she does have a role to play in the Opera House. She shared a vision of the Opera House with Six, Baltar and Athena. I think that will be her last stand and I think that is happening next week.

They Think hera is important because they THINK she is the first human/cylon hybrid. When in fact Starbuck is the first one. I think that Daniel had a daughter with a human lady (karas mom) and when he “up and left” was when his model was corrupted by John/Cavil. Just a thought.

You make a good point… Gods, I hope your right; the Opera House has always been one of the more elusive mysteries in BSG. It’s hard to come up with a theory on how it fits.

I agree about Roslin’s purpose has been served.
And Adama will “go down with the ship”.
The Old Man and Galactica will die together.
(I’m already choked up.)

An interesting thought, too.

I usually don’t put too much stock in author/musician/creator’s perspectives on their own work (they’re interesting but not the be all and end all of something), but I have to say that RDM’s podcasts have perhaps prejudiced my view on this. The explanation for the Hot Dog-Cally romance was that Hera had to be special, and having Nicky as Chief’s son ruined it. So even though I find the Starbuck as hybrid theory appealing, I have a hard time buying into it. Though, he could just be lying again - which we all know has happened before, and might happen again

I thin Starbuck is Daniel’s daughter too. I think one Daniel survived Cavil’s purge. He could have downloaded in an adult body. It’s possible that Cavil found him and killed him & that’s why Kara’s father dissapeared. He was killed.

Unless they want to get “really dark” and take Laura and the ship away from Adama and let him live for a while.

I agree with you first Hylon

Oh Gods, I wouldn’t be surprised.
Mercy, mercy, a little mercy!

Well, that set up may allow him to make a truly memorable (self sacrificial) exit.

True. BSG certainly has had a mythic epic quality. A heroic moment of self-sacrifice would certainly would be in keeping.
