That’s what I figured. I think that’s why they show all those details on the corkboard and around the room.
I’m having a difficult time typing. But it’s not what you think. On my way out of the bathroom earlier today I got my right index finger caught on the little metal thing in the door frame. Ripped the skin right off the knuckle. Plus, I’ve been playing the Wii since the kids got it. Hand cramped up last night. Gotta stop.
Yeah, having seen this movie at least a dozen times, I’m fairly confident that no one except “Kobayashi” and “Verbal” actually have any idea what’s really going on, especially not we the audience. I mean, we assume that because he was lying about everything, Verbal is Keyser Soze, but how do we really know?
Yeah. What he said. I guess I’m gullible. I believed the lie.
[whine]Do I have to?[/whine]
I tend to agree. OTOH, why even allow himself to be caught in the first place?
Which raise these questions:
- Does Keyser Soze exist? If so, WHO is Keyser Soze?
- What really happened to Keaton, Fenster, McMannus and what’s that fourth guy’s name, that guy who was Rachel Leigh Cook’s dad from that stupid movie with Freddy Prince?
It’s a game. Soze’s whole “existence” is a game of control and deceit. He allowed himself to get caught just so it hurt Kujan even more when he walked out of there.
ETA: I guess I should say Kint, not Soze.
Ouch. Just don’t let any blood drip into the computer.
If one of them gets a taste for human blood, we’re all doomed.
oh, dear .
Another random thought: Verbal seems to young to be Keyser Soze. That origin story for the Keyser Soze myth, even if a tiny small part of it is true, I can’t believe Verbal could have done as much or make as much notoriety for himself in such a short time. I mean, Verbal looks to be mid 40s at the oldest.
This is the first time it occurred to me, but what if Kobayashi is Keyser Soze, and Verbal works for Keyser Soze?
- The fax in the last scene, it shows a balding man, yes. But it also looks like an older balding man, and with narrower nose. Looks more like Kobayashi than it does Verbal.
- Why would Keyser Soze risk himself getting arrested and spending time in police custody? Why not just send someone else for that part?
- Who killed Edie? Wasn’t Verbal in police custody when she died?
Just a thought.
- All we know for sure is that the name is familiar to the feds, since Agent Baer tells Kujan he knows someone who makes a hobby out of Soze’s file. And we know that Kint is using the name for his own purposes, whatever they may be.
- Have any of them have been identified as being among the casualties as of yet? All I really remember is them mentioning a kid coming across a body on the beach…
I like to think that since all of us who’ve seen this movie aren’t dead yet, that doesn’t get revealed in the film. He certainly wouldn’t allow so many witnesses to roam free.
- What really happened to Keaton, Fenster, McMannus and what’s that fourth guy’s name, that guy who was Rachel Leigh Cook’s dad from that stupid movie with Freddy Prince?
They did find bodies, so it’s probably safe to assume that they died in some manner related to the story, if not exactly as described.
I can see that, but that assumes that he can control events to an incredible degree. For instance, he beat that fax by less than a minute. A very slight miscalculation, and he’s frakked.
You’re right. Good thing the finger is bandaged. Dang thing has been bleeding all day. I hope I don’t need stitches. I figure its harder to heal since its bending all the time.
Yeah, I can’t believe I just saw this movie and I forgot the character’s name already. I can’t believe the first other movie I could think of was that stupid movie. I can’t believe I’m still wearing pants. I can’t believe it’s butter!
I’ll stop now. I might be drunk.
Do they ever name any of the victims, though, except the Hungarian?

I see it more as his arrogance as opposed to having control.
maybe he’s the Dread Pirate Roberts
“nice job, Verbal. most likely kill you in the morning”
She’s All That
Off with the pants!
And yes, it is butter.
Bottoms up!
I really wish I could stay up. But my finger hurts (even inebriated) and I’m tired. Got 3 hours sleep last night.
good night Scotchy McWoundedFinger!
