BTW: this list changes after each episode.

Yep Thot - turn over to your… err… right I think, and there’s Vera, with all her friends.

Vera Lynn?

What am I saying? Nobody remembers her…

ahem…

“Weeeeeeee’ll meet again, don’t know where, don’t know whennnnnnnnn”

hey… maybe Vera Lynn is the final Cylon - undertones in the above of ‘it has all happened before, yadda’?

<------------ old

If Tory hadn’t waited to let Cally wake up and see that she was being murdered and ruined Chief’s life in the process, I’d buy her her own Fudgie the Whale cake.

I don’t hate Tori… I think despise would be a better word.

Certain phrases relating to being on fire and not applying basic biologically supported fire suppression measures spring to mind, as it seems to me at least that her actions are those of an immature sense of moral self when contronted with suddenly receiving a whole lot of power. Lord of the flies springs to mind.

Okay toughguy, let’s put our spacesuits on and step outside and settle this like men.
Or better yet, let’s step over to the “Ten hotest chicks on BSG:” thread shall we?

Hmmm…I’m old too, but that went zinging right over my head.

So, you’re settling it “like men” on the hottest chicks thread???

My feminist side objects to this… but I’ll allow it as long as they can have fresh goo (no leftovers from Grandpa or Loopy)

I too have gone to thread - it’s easier than ten paces at dawn

Agreed! Fresh goo only!

Given a choice between Tory and the Tories I’d choose the evil cylon nut-job over a bunch of wilfully ignorant little Englanders. They’re even worse that the unimaginative utopian loonies we’ve had for the past 10 years.

But given free reign I’d make the UK a republic and campaign for Baltar. Honestly, I think he’d make a better job of things, and he’d be funnier.

Well maybe she’s not as cylon as she thought she was…

and Dee, mustn’t forget Dee

Torry Kill Cally, make Nickname boomer hate Torry-zilla
but nickname boomer feels sorry for Torry-zilla cause everyone seems to want to be her pimp, thinks maybe she’s killing wrong people.

still… kill Cally; means me hate.

(I don’t know why I originally posted this on the Gaeta thread, so I’m transplanting it here)

Okay, prepare yourself. I am about to reveal the most shocking spoiler of all Time:
THOT is an abbreviation for Tory is HOT
Yours Truly,
-Thot

There’s a shock.

I think I can sympathise with and understand some of her actions.

Let’s look at some of her history which is used against her:

I so want to hate her, but your explanations make sense. You’ve destroyed virtually any logical reason to despise her, leaving only the utterly irrational distaste I have for her. Damn you. Damn you and your cogent arguments.

So, really, the only ‘bad’ thing here could be the killing of Cally. I’d suggest there were quite some mitigating circumstances: self-defence, saving of Nicky, likely saving of fellow Cylons, perhaps even a feeling that her destiny was to be more significant than Cally’s. Not a perfect excuse, I admit, more of a justification.

Again, I have to agree. Since the four of them would most likely get imprisoned (if not 'locked themselves), there is a certain level of self-preservation that justifies her actions. On the other hand, that doesn’t explain why she waited until Cally woke up to open the door. That was evil. Even if she felt justified, she doesn’t seem to feel any remorse for murdering an innocent woman. So, yeah, that’s more than enough reason to hate her. Consider yourself undamned.

But remember, plenty of others on Galactica have committed ‘crimes’: the kangaroo court members, Baltar, Lee, Anders to name a few. Some seem to be able to accept these all far easier than Tory.

Military and governmental decisions always seem to be easier to rationalize than individual self-preservation. The needs of the many and all…

Ahem. May I direct your attention here

While your argument has some merit and is supported by historical precedent, like many scholars, I feel that your interpretation of the Third Amendment to the Colonial Charter is overly broad and greatly deviates from the Lords of Kobol’s original intentions regarding the right to commit pipe violence.
