So, I was looking around and I found THIS. The boxart for “The Plan”'s October 27th release. And I think it looks WOW awesome. I love it; soooo much better than “Razor”'s art. I love this art, these pictures, everything. Can’t wait!
I was intrigued by this link in the article: http://tvblog.ugo.com/tv/edward-james-olmos-on-the-future-of-bsg-and-the-united-nations
me too. Since I’ve now reached S3 in my rewatch and have “Downloaded” fresh in my mind, this Cylon perspective movie will answer some questions and surprise us.
Indeed! I wish I could share his optimism about BSG movies being made. I’m firmly in the camp of “there were more stories to be told” and wanting to play in the reimagined BSG universe for another couple of years.
I wonder why it was so important to destroy/auction off all the sets, props, etc. I also wonder why an attempt to get a movie deal cut and signed wasn’t made during the show. Maybe it’s my blind fandom, but those stories that haven’t been told yet could make a direct-to-dvd movie that’s at least as successful as the SG-1 movie DVDs, which apparently did well.
The box looks good. A nice change from all the previous DVD sets, where the pictures on the box were basically interchangeable…
I think if “The Plan” sells well enough we may very well see the franchise extended in these sorts of movies. We’ll see. I honestly don’t know how I would feel about seeing the post-Daybreak BSG characters again, though. I would be more interested in prequel and “between episode” stories likeThe Plan and Razor or Caprica. At some point a shark will be jumped, and I don’t want BSG to jump the shark.
I’ve read that we would see scenes like the throwing out the airlock of the Cavil twins, which was only hinted at in a deleted scenes of season 2. ANd listening to the old GWC shows, Sean was spot on that the Cylon plan was Cavil’s plan.
I am really, really looking forward to seeing The Plan. As for the box art however, I don’t really like it. They went for a more minimalist, exotic style with McCreary’s score but the marketing folks still liked the bombastic, flashy packaging artwork you would expect from network TV.
Obviously, there are different companies and departments at work when it comes to soundtrack and DVD packaging. I just wish someone at Universal had shared the same vision as the creators.
after spending the last few months watching other shows on tv, the quality of a BSG-project will slip down an absolute treat.
Now it actualy seems real to me now. I can’t wait.
I just wanna know–Who the FRAK is Daniel???
Box art is wonderfull…I’ve noticed in the past few months and weeks that there is a growing feeling that the show could or should have lasted longer then it did…
I agree…I loved the ending but I feel it was a mistake to end it so soon.
I’m not sure I agree. While I would have enjoyed having the show go on more, I feel like they were really running out of ideas by the end. They had the time to flesh out the ending if they wanted to, and they (rdm) decided to put all the answers into the final episode. and on the whole im ok with that. but there were episodes in the middle of season 4 and 4.5, (escape velocity, deadlock, islanded…) that really seemed like filler to me.
The other thing is that the story arc that drove the final season had to be the final story arc in galactica, because it wrapped everything up. I don’t see how they could have done another season without starting some entire new story arc, because this last story arc they did (beginning around eye of jupiter/rapture, and really getting going in Crossroads) was extended as much as it could be.
I see your point and I agree and disagree at the same time…
I see this topic is flowing over into another thread as well…Pike get on that…
I have not hidden my love for the end of the show, I am one of the strongest supporters of how the show ended and I could not love it more…
That said I agree with Mr.Hatch that the world of BSG could go on, I don’t think it ends once they get to Earth, If someone has a good idea that stays true to the themes and ideas of the show then I am all for it.
Maybe I’m just not wanting to let the show go but I honestly believe in my heart that there is more story left in the world of BSG.
Do you mean you think there are stories to tell about the crew’s lives on Earth? I don’t know what they could do with the Earth setting except the comedy and tragedy of watching them crew stumble on rocks, get eaten by lions etc.

but at least the DVD will be out soon
this is just funny. at this point im not even going to ask why. thank god for the dvd in oct tho.
seriously tho, for a more casual fan, once theyve seen the longer cut on dvd, they wont care about watching it on tv once it airs. whatevah
Ugh. Now I’m forced to beg it for Christmas.
I’d watch more of BSG without question or qualification. If it’s good, then yeah! If it sucks, truth be told, I’d watch it anyway.
Gods, I miss it !
