Just saw the Headless Horseman running after his horse. Too funny.
Unfortunately, my game is glitching and won’t let me pick up words at the word walls. Either it tells me I have the word and I don’t or the chanting just goes on and on with no word transfer. Very frustrating as now I can’t get word hints from the Grey Beards.
Killed my second one today in the College of Whinterhold. Was lucky to use the pillars as cover and happy surprised to see that during the battle my Magicka bar didn’t drain.
Yeah, I also try to get enough money for your reason to buy a house to stuff my loot into it. I’m halfway there and with my 74 Level Pickpocketing skill, I should get back to the Thieves Guild quests.
Well, then my decision should be easy. But have enough time since there are soo many side quests.
BTW, I was looking for the thread about this game, but since the title is too long before “(Skyrim)” only the search function helped to find it.
well I made it back in February, it just kind of evolved into the official game thread, I didn’t think it would at the time
also is it just me or is the College of Winterhold seem to be the main place that dragons attack you? it seems like every other time I fast travel there and start going through the courtyard a dragon will attack me, I’ll never forget the first time I got to the college, everyone was outside and a dragon attacked, landed in the middle of the courtyard, and proceeded to get freaking annihilated by all the mages at the college
I missed my second dragon. After applying to the Bard College in Solitude, I headed out to Dead Man’s Respite for my initiation quest. I got halfway there when I heard a dragon roar echoing through the skies. Looking back toward the town, I saw a dragon flying around the lower slopes near the entrance.
I chuckled a little bit, thinking I was glad I wasn’t there and soldiered on toward my next quest. There were a few moments of ambivalence where I wasn’t sure if I should turn back and help them out. After Dead Man’s Respite, when I headed back to Solitude, it didn’t look any different. I guess the Dragon never touched down.
from what I can tell these Dragons seem like a hyped up threat, if I live in Skyrim I’d be much more worried about all the fracking Trolls and Giants roaming the countryside! heck even in the cities they have rats the size of dogs and spiders bigger than horses!
I was holding off because BethesdaSoft pissed me off with how buggy Fallout: NV was on the PS3, and I was wondering if Skyrim, being even more open, would suffer from the same issues. (I am one of those explore every nook and cranny, pick everything up old school RPGers, so I’m predicting a huge save file…)
Amberite, I’ve heard the PS3 version is pretty buggy, I personally haven’t really had any problems on the 360 other than now that I’m far in there’s a few second lag between me being able to select which weapon/spell I want to off my favorites list
The better comparison would be Fallout 3 to Skyrim, since New Vegas was handled by Obsidian, built on Bethesda’s engine. I think the development cycle of New Vegas was vastly shorter than Fallout 3 and it’s worth noting that Obsidian developed New Vegas so Bethesda could begin work on Skyrim. I can’t speak for the PS3, but my Xbox experience, which should have a manifestation of the same issue, has been next to flawless. My Oblivion save file is well over 100 hours, my Fallout 3 save is close to 100 hours, and my Skyrim save is sitting somewhere around the 70 hour mark. There is the occasional stutter for a half second, but this same issue seems to be present on the PC version as well, at least on my Brother’s set up. I’ve had one location reset, meaning, a store that I had once looted bare, became restocked, though the clerk’s conversation tree or demeanor didn’t reset. This may have been the save file clearing up a chunk of data or just a random bug, either way I’d say it’s far from game crippling. It’s worth noting that I play on an original Xbox360, which I thought would be an issue at this point with the newer games pushing the hardware to their very limits, but it seems to hold up better than the redesigned ones because I keep hearing about all these issues with games, but I’ve yet to experience one first hand. I also play the same way you do, I check out every little nook and I check every barrel, even though I know it’s just going to have three potatoes in it or something equally useless to me.
EDIT: I just checked and my Skyrim save file is currently 9mb with no issues. I also listened to a podcast today in which two hosts, both playing on PS3, discussed the same issue and have save files of 6mb and 8mb without issue.
According to that article, session time may also be an issue, but the 8 hour work day in Skyrim I put in a couple Saturdays ago (probably around the 45 hour mark of game time) didn’t have any issues.
second, well I have full smith rating and actually have my companion using a better sword I made and enchanted myself than that giant club , will be good to know should I ever start a different character though!
