I’m sorry, WITH WHICH I disagree.
LOL! Indeed! I think the method was a bit overboard. I just agree with the concept of laws and law enforcement.
ExacTly
Alright, I must head to bed. I’ve been up entirely too long with entirely too little sleep!
Gort had no junk nor hair, though he might fall under Audra’s “bald is futuristic” axiom.
That’s just it, though. Humanity didn’t build these robutts. We just have to live under they’re semi-benevolent, autocratic rule.
Good night, Ladies!
“We have created a race of rowboats.”
The crowd goes silent in stunned awe.
snort Very nice!
Okay GWCers, New Years overlap exhaustion has raised its ugly tired head. 'Nite!
Nite, Topgun
Good night, D!
I think I might watch a little more SG-1 before I knock off.
Here’s a link to the original short story Farewell to the Master which this movie(s) was based on:

Night all!
And they drop like flies…
No! No dissent allowed!
I understand what you mean. OTOH, it’s clear it’s a much higher-minded film than most of its era. So much of '50s sci-fi was thinly veiled us-versus-them allegories for the evils of Communism. At the very least, this story is raising the bar toward the idea of uniting humanity in some sort of peace, rather than just another war movie. In fact, it’s pretty blatantly anti-war, so much so that if it had been made 15 years later, the whole cast and crew would have been denounced as hippies or even Commies. I agree that the “threat”, such as it is, ultimately comes down to a might=right message, but really, what else would humanity as a whole understand? Then, as much as now?
Thanks, B! Good night!
Such is the way of frak parties. Or not, as sometimes several of us linger for entirely too long afterward.
I hear that. I can’t wait until there’s a more moderate view of War. Of course it’s a BAD thing, but it’s not always so simple as “let’s all just get along”.
Actually, come to think of it, BSG came pretty close to a realistic viewpoint on it.
And, to think, all it took was wiping out most of the human and Cylon races!
You were saying?
I’d rather linger afterward, as it provides conversation on the themes and such. Precisely why I watched the movie beforehand so I knew the movie and could discuss it while not having to focus my attention on it.
I got up late today, so I’m less inclined to toddle off to bed just yet.
It does take a bit of practice to manage doing it all at the same time.
I enjoyed the Frak and the conversation. I understand if you’re off to bed.
One more thing, though. Something smells like Shat. Could it be Talos?
