Amy Winehouse RIP. Major downer.
Kinda surprised it took this long
Simply because I used it to completely alienate an otherwise docile bar last night. And then I chuckled ominously to myself. Twice.
highly enjoyable, the world needs more cello players (imho … and flutists).
on a theme …
hmmm … if this alienated the bar … you might want to find a new bar.
Thanks for this aural stim, it motivated me to … get up
I love Janis, baby!
My request for the next meetup. Audra’s rendition of this.
Because Mike Doughty is still amazing. And remarkably sharper, wittier, and hella cooler of a person post-Soul Coughing (and being drug-free for a few years now didn’t hurt, either). Currently touring on the new “Yes and Also Yes” album. Go see him. Tell him I said, “I kinda man-crush you”.
I was like, “Mike Doughty… Mike Doughty… why does that ring a bell OMG SOUL COUGHING!”
I loved Soul Coughing. Thanks for posting, dude!
Sharing the love:

This is Wild Flag. It’s 2 of the members of Sleater-Kinney, including Carrie Brownstein, one of the most talented guitar players out there, also of Portlandia fame, and Mary Timoni. They are AMAZING. I am counting down the days til they play D.C. (28 days!)
ps: Keir, I know a bilingual, quasi-goth librarian with a passable knowledge of wines who can quote Douglas Adams and Dr. Who. Not sure of her music tastes or appreciation of bourbon. Sadly, she’s married. But she DOES exist.
Oh, hell, yeah! The S-K kung fu in this quartet is strong. I haven’t listened to them in ages…if I can ever get my external TB drive spinning here at work, I can subject all the drones to such goodness…along with Neko Case, Iggy Pop, Rev. Horton Heat…oh, I see where this is going.
You realize this is the antithesis of helping me, right? Better to know such things DON’T exist, than know, and get Sookie-slapped with the realization (frakkin’ SOOKIE!)… =P
Old Pearl Jam B-side song from between Ten & Vs. Wonderful acoustic downer for your next long, dark night of the soul. The harmonica solo reminds of Neil Young more than anything they actually did with him.
If you watch video of the band from around the time, Eddie walks funny, because he sung his ass off on the song.
I do believe I have a new favorite band on the horizon. Thanks for bringing this important matter to my attention!
