(Not sure about the technical legality of this one, but I get the impression that Joss and co. think of it as promotional material.)
Yes, brava! Make more like her!
Most kids around that age just belt’em out.
Frakkintalos, yours has a vibrato!
Is it weird I just completely ripped my apartment apart and beat down my neighbors kid?

Mr. Yuk, he’s mean.
Mr. Yuk, he’s green.
Been a while since I had German, but if I recall correctly, the chorus translates to something like
“Herr Yuk ist bose / Herr Yuk ist grun.”
Which has nothing to do with anything. Further tangent from there: My college German teacher, she was so German that her dad had been a fairly high ranking member of the Third Reich. She’d actually sat on Hitler’s lap and called him “Uncle Dolphy.” And to her, being born in bred in Germany, learning German and its impossibly counterintuitive mechanics was the simplest thing in the world. “All you have to do is get a feel for it,” she’d say. Felt like trying to lift an X-wing out the swamp using the Force.
Anyhow, keeping with the theme from podcast #82:
Sonic Youth, “Goo.”
“Going Missing” by Maximo Park
Best played with as much Base as you have
Fat Bottomed Girls by the undeniable
“Queen”
I’ll post this because it’s somewhat of a running gag at my dorm. A friend introduced me to it last summer and I would play it around the clock for like three days straight, with the window and the and patio door wide open until everybody’d freaking nuts…
and just because the week after that, I was addicted to the following song, I’ll just post it, too…
Pike, I sooooo needed that.
Weird Fishes/Arpeggi from Radiohead’s latest album, In Rainbows. One of their best song.
Ah Sigur Rós, my very favorite band
Christopher O’Riley’s version of Radiohead’s “Pyramid Song,” performed with just a piano and cello:

for more mp3s of piano covers, from the Cocteau Twins to the Smiths.
O’Riley’s a classically trained pianist who hosts NPR/PBS’s “From the Top” musical-education show, but he also covers – nay, interprets – rock songs on piano. He has a couple albums of Radiohead and Elliot Smith adaptations.
Cheers
1, inspired by the talk of Cylons having time on their side: Oasis, “Live Forever.”
2, from the ep. of the week: Blondie, “Rapture.”
