I’m going to watch this tonight - can you confirm there’s no more extras at the end!
[insert phallic joke] here
I can confirm on the copy I saw only had the mid-credits scene. There are reports of another scene at the very end of the main credits, but we didn’t get it. It’s only a couple of extra minutes so I would wait if I were you, you might be lucky
It’s like 30 seconds with no dialogue
So not really worth it?
It’s mostly a bit of a joke,
The Avengers having a silent, tense lunch at a crummy diner that’s clearly celaning up after the events of the end of the film. It’s actually quite funny. Mark Ruffalo is always on the verge of cracking up (not sure if it’s because they were having fun on set or because he’s playing Bruce Banner as something of a cynic, alla Chief Tyrol), but, I have to say, when Thor takes a bite out of his sandwich, I just about lost it (and that sounds stupid, I know, but it’s all in the tone)
.
Ugh, I saw the scene mid credits and thought that was it so I left:( I gladly would have stayed for the last scene if I’d known to.
As for the mid credits scene, who was the character that shows their face at the end? Not being a comic fan, it kinda went over my head.
That’s ok…I saw it and said, “what the hell is Darkseid doing here?”
Turns out I was kinda right
This movie felt like I was watching the greatest FSL solution ever written. Best superhero movie to-date IMO.
Meh. I’ve written…ahem…read better. smirk like Kirk
Perhaps…but what I’m saying is it felt nothing like a traditional Hollywood script. If felt like it came from a true geek and fan of the characters, the same way FSL does.
As I posted earlier about half of the fans there had no idea who Thanos was; a little too ‘old school’ I guess…
The Avengers has the biggest opening ever!!
With it drawing in this kind of money there is sure to be a sequel…
And maybe with all the money Joss is raking in he can finally make Dr. Horrible 2.
Minor spoiler:
When
Thor tackled Hulk
I literally got a joy-tear in my eye when I realized they were going to fight. Man, what an age we live in, to have such a super hero movie exist.
That last scene, so small, but so brilliant.
Saw Avengers yesterday, (due to a mistake on my part) IMAX 3D…
Great Movie! For once I enjoyed Samuel Jackson as Nick Fury, or maybe I have now gotten used to seeing him in that role.
What a way to start off the “2012: SUMMER OF GEEK”.
The second end credit scene was odd and hilarious…
Not to sure where they are planing to go with the Thanos plotline, though I was pretty sure that there was an Infinity Gauntlet in Odin’s weapon storage chamber in
THOR. For a half second on the “reveal shot” I thought it was going to be the Red Skull, then it was like “Oh! Wait there’s a nose”…
Possibly this would be the reason to set up Loki to have him back in Asgard, to “aquire” that.
Big question is though…
Starfox or No Starfox???
If we can find a baby sitter, gonna go take the wife, and see it a second time, in a couple of weeks.
Great job Joss have fun with # 2!
Don’t know which previews everyone else got, but the Prometheus trailer looked good, another one to look forward to!
I half expected him to yell about the m/f snakes in his helicopter.
Also, are there characters similar to Thanos in the X-men franchise & Superman? I remember it was one ugly dude with a bullethead helmet & almost godlike powers which forced Superman to lobotomise him in the Justice League? Ditto in the X-men franchise where only Dark Phoenix was able to defeat the said ugly dude with godlike powers? I think I’m confusing 3 different characters.
Yeah, in SUperman lore there is a Villain who some consider looks similar.
Darkseid for Supes and Apocalypse for X-men come to mind
Okay, why all of a sudden is Ant Man suddenly “The Next” hero to add to the team??
As much as I like the shrinking, and the new Ant Man switch to Giant Man smash and shrink again, a few things pop to mind.
- A villain, who is pretty tough, takes a hammer in the chest from Thor, but is suddenly bothered by ants all over him/her??
- Ant Man can apparently talk to the ants, doesn’t he feel bothered by all the deaths of these ants, ‘cause I am the above villain, now covered in ants, I am going to do some SERIOUS stompin’ and swattin’!!
- I like what they did with him in the new Avengers Cartoon series, I just don’t see it translating over to film…
- Maybe a powered female, Ms. Marvel pops to mind, and leave it like that…
To be fair, you can make that arguement with all of the Avengers; why do they need anyone except Hulk and Thor? The main thing is versatility, even though they aren’t as strong physically, Hawkeye, Cap, BW and Antman can do things they can’t.
I think its more like low grade mind control, he doesn’t have ant friends per say. Lets hope not anyway, thatd probably mess with a dudes head.
Theres no way to know either way until someone takes a good swing at it, but personally I could see that being really cool and distinct from the rest of the Avengers. And there’s at least one awesome team up move we could have on par with
Cap and Tonys shield move
in the Avengers.
Cant deny that the Avengers could do with being a little bit less of a super powered sausage fest, but with Ant Man you could also introduce Wasp.
I’ve just always loved Hank Pym; he’s like some Super Villian mad scientist who was born with the soul of a hero and keeps trying to do good, despite his constant failings. And an Ant Man movie done by Edgar frackin Wright? That would be amazing.
