Star Wars: The Old Republic - SWTOR (MMO) news, trailers, etc., thread

Yeah, 8 per server. My guild started an Empire guild on another server because we would likely run out of slots on Juyo. I’d rather have them on the same server for those of us who want to transfer between mules, characters, etc.

Edit: Nevermind. Ashes of Ashla is on Juyo too. I’m happier now. (:

Now I dont know what i want to be when i get the game Smuggler or BH thanks to a Gamespot Hot spot podcast who talked lead writer Daniel Erickson for SWTOR heres the link to the podcast site check it out

so I was doing a PVP instance earlier today

was coming up on a bridge, it wasn’t too narrow but narrow enough

and one of our Jedi Sage’s was getting swarmed by 4 Sith whatevers

now for those that don’t know this, the Consular (the base class of the Sage) has a nifty little ability that they can use that pushes everything that’s right next to them back a ways

so the Sage uses this ability, and every one of the Sith enemies fell down into the abyss and died

I had a good laugh from it

First MMO I’ve been max level in and it’s pretty great. Got a healer Commando on Mindtrick, currently gearing up for HMs and Ops.

The real difference between this game and other MMOs I’ve played and not gotten to max level in is basically having a great guild (Good Luck Have Bothans, the Republic Giant Bomb guild) It’s pretty great.

Up and coming…

0:35 -< I gave the rough pieces, you should complicate things.
This game right now looks a mess.

Knights of the old republic 1 _ the second was a rushed game and the MMO is unfinished.
Episode 1 was Disney crap.

I don’t know if I’d go so far as to agree with that. I’m enjoying the game so far and completely enjoyed Kotor I and II enough for multiple playthroughs.

Of course, I wouldn’t consider Episode I “crap” either so obviously there is a difference of opinions.

Hm, in my opinion the game is more finished than many other MMOs at release ^^

Nevertheless, it is neither innovative nor the best Star Wars game ever made, at least not yet, but it is still a good MMO and people are having fun playing it.

I thought the multiplayer conversation system was innovative. It may not impress everyone but, I can’t think of any other game that make the quest giving/finishing mechanic a multiplayer experience. The crafting system where to companions do the crafting while I’m off adventuring, as opposed to watching a completion bar scrawl acrosss the screen, was new to me.

As a side note, MMOs are never finished. They are either a living project or they are dead and soon forgotten.

Yes, but I would file those under improvement and not innovation. Nice features, but nothing that fundamentally changes the MMO-experience. Still those improvements indicate great potential for the game.

Well I finally got the game and installing it as i type. hopping that my computer can run it with out upgrading the cpu if not i have to find my artic silver to put in the new cpu

So… which server are you on?

I’m playing on the German Server Supreme Commander Stantorrs

Forgive the crappy crop job.

For anyone who hasn’t seen it, this is a trailer for the big Patch 1.2 now due next month…

You might notice a Chiss who looks like a smuggler, a Sith dressed in good guy white with a blue Lightsaber, some guy with a red Lightsaber and a flamethrower, a smuggler (presumed with Corso Riggs beside him) Force choking someone, and a few other goodies.

Can’t wait for the new update

I like most of the Jedi Knight changes. The new skill tree may require some trial and error.

o Companions now use accurate voice responses regarding the success or failure of their Crew Missions when they return.
yay.
o The Emergency Fleet Pass now takes Republic players to the center of Carrick Station instead of the Tython and Ord Mantell arrival hangar.

Yay!

Maybe I missed the announcement but, there’s a surprise event going on in SWTOR today. There are, however, "news’ broadcasts and alerts going on in the fleet stations as well as on display screen mounted at the entrance to the Starports on Tatooine. I’m not sure how long it will last.

A ship infected with the Rakghoul plague has crashed on Tatooine in the northern Dune Sea! Shrapnel and escape pods have been scattered all over the planet creating a widespread outbreak. Sand People are infected… their live stock… and reports have it that a very tough bantha is spreading the disease through the Tatooine warzone.

Help contain this plague (and collect Rakghoul DNA Samples to turn in to the Jawa trader Jeelvic for rewards.)

Started a Star Wars show with my guild. First episode below. We recorded our second tonight.
