“How many men and women, how many friends have we watched die? I’ve lost
count. Every one of them, every single one, fought for life until the very end.”

Watch online at YouTube.

Geordi cheats.

How did they not know that?

“Bluffing is not one of Counselor Troi’s strong suits.”

Right up there with driving and counseling. :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh, and Geordi cheats at poker.

This episode always creeped me out, cuz the thot of Worf–anyone — getting paralyzed due to an accident is so disturbing.

“Worf, there is no restraining field.”

Is it like a spoon?

“I’m afraid there’s no way that we can repair this kind of injury.”

Two words: Android Legs.

Worf is getting educated. He really underestimates his poker opponents.

Happens fairly often, though.

My mom’s cousin fell off a five-foot ladder and spent the rest of his live in a wheelchair. :frowning:

“…discreet distance.”

She sounds like she has great bedside manner.

That’s certainly educational, although crushing his spine may have been a bit much. :stuck_out_tongue:

Unlike DS9: “Sons of Mogh”, it was not clarified if this form of ritual Klingon murder/suicide would allow a Klingon soul to enter Sto-vo-kor (though it can perhaps be inferred as such, from the fact that it is an accepted ritual of the Klingon culture).

“Help me end my life as I have lived it, with dignity and honor.”

…and gratuitous violence.

I bet House could repair Worf.

Clearly Klingons were intelligently designed by a stupid god.

Oh man, that’s so awful. One moment and life changed forever.

My wife stupidly sat on the hood of a moving car when she was in college and fell off and broke her ankle severely. She might have been crippled for life if the surgery she got hadn’t been outstanding.

That’s why they killed them.

Yeah. I did so many stupid things in my life. I am so glad I never hurt myself seriously.

I’m slower than most, but I watched House for years before someone explained to me that House is essentially Sherlock Holmes as a doctor.
House – Holmes.
Dr Wilson — Dr Watson.

Duh, so obvious, but I didn’t see it till someone told me.

It is worth noting that while Commander Riker was encouraged by Captain Picard to carry out the ritual of hegh’bat, Worf himself was arrested by Odo and berated by Sisko for attempting a similar ritual on his own brother in DS9: “Sons of Mogh”.

Hooray! Picard supports suicide!

Remember kids, if Picard says it’s OK, you should just go ahead and do it.

Comment from youtube:

“Worf should’ve asked Data to do? it because Data wouldn’t give a fuck.”
