Star Trek: The Next Generation 5x16 Ethics

Considering the kind of work I do, this kind of thing is constantly in the back of my mind.

I was just admiring how well written this is. I looked…Teleplay by RDM. Not surprised.

Ooops. I hit pause accidently. Started part 3 yet?

Believe me. My wife has already told me how many times I almost ended up in the TBI ward.

I hate to say it, but Beverly’s in the wrong here. Experimental human(oid) trials eventually have to happen. Someone who’s considering suicide instead of dealing with paralysis is the perfect subject.

To chose between suicide and an experimental treatment. I mean, Duh!

Meddling humans.

About 2:30 ago.

I can see that.

Brain injuries are particularly terrifying. It’s amazing how easily a person can be altered so fundamentally. :frowning:

She has mentioned many times her pleasure that she gave birth to daughters instead of sons. She has said, “If they were a tenth as reckless as you, I’d have them live in a bubble.”

Way to embrace the Prime Directive there, Will.

Thanks.

Riker with knife. Eeek.

This is a wonderful character study. Everyone in this episode stays true to who they are. Their convictions and beliefs rise to the surface. Very well done.

Trust me, seeing how my nephew acts already, and knowing there’s another boy on the way, I can’t imagine how my sister’s going to manage.

Marla Astor, Tasha Yar. Cool call backs. Well done, RDM!!

Not applicable here. Will has every right to refuse. Worf can get someone else. There are plenty of security officers that I’m sure owe Worf a favor.

I didn’t know that. You will be Uncle Badger squared? WooT!!

If Alexander is ¼ human, there should be some kind of formula for determining when he’s a man.

I love that he talks to Alexander. You think he’s going to ask him to kill him. RDM goes there!

Awesome. When is he due?

Simply. After his first kill.
