This episode was the first Star Trek episode directed by Marvin V. Rush. Rush, a director of photography on projects in and out of Star Trek, recalled that much effort went into shooting the episode so Gates McFadden’s late-term pregnancy was always hidden.

How does that in any way disagree with the assessment of homophobia?

I was 18 and saying, “You know the guy what? A day or two?” UGH! Grow up.
Imagine being able to switch bodies like that. I wish that went on in our society. Except I want sexy cylon bodies.
Well…not so bad. Her voice is manish…
So why could Odan just go into another human host in the meantime?

And yeah, it doesn’t turn out well. 
There’s an alternate ending to this episode where Dr Crusher and girl-Odan go off to her quarters and have hot lesbian sex.
Unfortunately that ending was broadcast only in my imagination.:o
