Star Trek: The Motion Picture Frak Party 3/26 @ 10 PM ET

seat belts - finally!!! no more getting tossed about!

Can’t imagine why.

Stunningly beautiful woman. Surprising that she wasn’t a bigger star after this…

I diidn’t catch it, but Default Prophet, did Kirk use the phrase “So Say We All?”

Hear that, Thot?

No “whoooosh”.

:frowning: Well, I making up for it by saying “Whoooosh” everywhere I go lately.

Hi everybody. I started watching earlier today, because I knew I couldn’t be here until 11. Are we 45 minutes in yet?

I’m not gonna argue that this film is just a big tour of space but hold it up against its peers:

Logan’s Run
The Omega Man
Barbarella
The Andromeda Strain
Fantastic Voyage
Westworld
Soylent Green
THX 1138

It has the same feel and tone of those films. I think Robert Wise was just using those models.

OMGs, yesterday I was watching Ben-10 with Keara’s kids, and some king (?) said “So say I”, which his knights answered “So say we all!”

I’m at 40 mins. And Uhura just shouted “Wormhole Effect!!” in a very sexy way.

So now we know where Mr. Moore gets his material I guess. :stuck_out_tongue:

just peeking my head in… hi! trek people! q’pla! live long and prosper! engage! make it so!

ok back to your regularly scheduled film…

Are you gonna make a giggly comment? After they blow up the asteroid Ilia’s boobs are bouncing.

What?

I noticed.

Yeah, I guess one can argue that fun, snappy, witting, fast sci fi hadn’t been invented yet at the time.
And then Enter “Wrath of Khan”

Bones is teh awesome.

hmmm…I missed that. (Let me just scribble down that time point for review later…)

They’re kinda mesmerising aren’t they? Giggly enough for ya?

If you notice the similarities between Decker and Ilia’s relationship and Riker and Troi’s, you’d be right.

I love boobs. Giggly. Even more so.

Once you get those books I sent you, you’ll enjoy how McCoy is good friend to Kirk helping him deal with Kirk’s loss of his friend Gary Mitchell. It’s partly why McCoy decides to join the Enterprise instead of remaining on Earth.

For whatever reason I loved this segment. Kirk’s black glass doors closing followed by Spock’s entrance.
