Sons of Anarchy Thread

I say Hell Yeah! And also, Paula Malcomson, so awesome in everything she’s in.

Father Ashbey what a great character—scarily authentic.

And Alvarez, imagine having the balls to go to Alvarez’s house and say “Hey, uh, would you mind pretending your dead?”

Also, WHAT IS JAX GONNA DO? I’m gonna lose sleep over his dilemma. There’s no way he’d leave without Abel, right?

(I don’t know what the protocol is re: spoilers in this thread. I figure the ep came out Tuesday so most have seen it.)

When this season began, I said, “I hope they don’t make the whole season about getting Abel back.” Now that there are only two episodes left, I can’t believe how fast the time went. Terrific writing. That’s all I can say.

This past episode, you really feel for Jax. He is conflicted about his life with the Club and the priest makes a harsh argument, especially calling it a promise.

In the end, I can only judge what I would do. It’s not the priest call to decide what’s best for my child. No matter what, Abel is my child and I would get him back. I would want the best for my child and even in my most messed up state, that’s me. Perhaps that’s selfish and bold, but if I give my child to someone else, how do I know for sure they will have a better life? If I have any self-respect, I would take Abel home with me and deal with the Club, in time.

The commericlal made it look like maybe Jax would leave Abel behind, so I’ve got to think the opposite will happen. But then, nothing would surprise me.

Helluva episode, huh?

An intense episode for sure. I really don’t think that baby is coming back with them. The only thing they’re going to bring back from Ireland is Jimmy O.

Regarding spoilers, I seee it like the 'cast. I watch eps the Saturday after normally, so I just stay away.

That baby is so cute.

“Anarchism… stands for liberation of the human mind and the dominion of religion; the liberation of the human body from the dominion of property; liberation from shackles and restraint of government. It stands for social order based on the free grouping of individuals.”

Huh. So there’s more to it than anti-social tee-shirts and bad haircuts?

What do you mean bad hair cuts

I absolutely love Sons of Anarchy. But, interesing question: What if you lived it a town like Charming? Would you have a problem with an MC kinda controlling the town—preventing Walgreens and Home Depots and Targets from being built? I dunno—maybe I wouldn’t want to know.

I think it’s easy to sympathize with the MC, but let’s be clear here: they’re not a positive influence on the town. I think part of this season’s “big story” is that the MC is not a civil service group or a church. They do not better the city. Sure, they may protect it from some other, more evil MC’s, but they’re still involved in illegal activities while using violence to achieve their ends, with innocent people often caught in the crossfire. And this is what Jax has to consider.

Hee. I love the show too, but I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t be able to stand having a bunch of guys do all the talking for me. Outside of the more questionable/illegal things they do at times, Samcro is a sexist club, and while Gemma is kind of the defacto head of the club (as seen in season 2), it doesn’t change the fact that she has no actual voting power in Samcro (other than being married to one), and it seems pretty apparent that having a penis is a prerequisite to be in the club. Therefore, it kind of sucks.

Wait, aren’t there 3 more episodes? I thought it’s a 13 episode season. Damn, there better be 3 more episodes, or I’m going to be mad!

I still think they could have done more with the Irish leg of this season. It just seems like I still don’t really know a lot about any of the Irish peeps at all - like the scene with McGee and Clay - I just though, if who McGee is (especially in his relationship with Clay or John Teller and the rest of the first 9’s, or his/SamBel’s struggles in Belfast) was conveyed a bit more in the show - that scene would have been a lot more powerful. Or Jax and Ashby - I would have liked to see maybe a scene where we see Ashby and John Teller’s relationship or something, because I came out from the last scene thinking what a giant douche Ashby is. He’s right that Samcro isn’t exactly the best environment to raise a kid, but how dare he tries to lecture Jax on parenting? Not only is Ashby is the sole reason why there’s all this violence in Belfast in the past few days because he took over the kidnapping and continued it for his own purposes, but he’s also a co-head (or at least a very influential member) of a gang that sells guns and promotes violence.

I guess maybe I just wanted to see a little bit more of who John Teller really was, because even though we’re in Belfast and there are all these things happening that are all sort of related to John, I don’t think I really learned anything new about Jax’s father at all. It just seems like a waste of an opportunity, given where the guys are.

And I still don’t understand why Gemma felt the need to hide that secret. If that’s all it is, I just don’t see why she’d want to hide it so fiercely (even talking to Clay about it before they’re in Belfast, as it it’s some major bombshell) - when Jax really couldn’t care less.

I guess the show’s creator said that he understands people are frustrated with Season 3 but that it lays some very important groundwork for his 7-year plan for the show.

I really liked the season finale.
I won’t be spoilery just yet…

I am very happy with the way it all worked out…

set up season 4 without being a cliff hanger…

I will say that waaaaayyyy to many of the sons are happy right now.

On a personal note, i was also very happy to see Sonny Barger (lenny the pimp)in the prison doctors office scene. looks pretty good for a 72 year old hardcore biker.
Sonny Barger is a founding member of the LA chapter of the hells angels (1957)

Question… if Tara has a boy, do you think they will name him Cane?

samcro forever!

Word; another cliffhanger, and I’ve have had a heart attack.

I was tired as hell when I watched it, so I haven’t really digested it all. Need to rewatch. I found the last bit with Jimmy oddly touching.

I liked it all right, but I felt kind of cheated as a viewer due to the ending a well. That being said, I was happy that we weren’t left with a heart-rending cliffhanger (which was especially poignant with my young son being just a year old when season 2 ended), but I also felt like Season 3 was just a giant chunk of transition. I believe Kurt Sutter when he says there are very important elements that were laid down this season, but I also feel like it was messy and overly drawn-out.

I am very happy that all the babies are safe.

I was very satisfied with the finale. Good twists —that weren’t too easy to see through.
Bad guys getting their due.
…Oh! And let’s talk about that awesome music track running through the whole last act of the ep!!! Memorizing. I wants it!!

I was so mad during the like fourth 5th of the show and then to have what happened happen? Great finale

I’m still not sure who did what to whom and when, but all in all, thumbs up. As I was saying somewhere else (maybe Twitter, maybe here), I think there are usually better things you can do with a character than

spoilers
kill her. And Stahl’s sudden transition from super-slick powerhouse to batshit crazy killer… it didn’t seem like the best use of her. But…

Jimmy’s last words were powerful.
Man that was a killer finale. I was so worried going into the last act. I was worried how they would work next season with Jax divided from the club. I was really worried that Unser was going to go an kill Stahl and ruin his life. I like that they are now brining back the Hamlet story line. I wonder how long it will take for Jax to find out that Gemma and Clay are responsible for his fathers death.
Yeah, it was satisfying for Opie to get his revenge, but I too am gonna miss Stahl as a character. I guess in a finale there has to be consequential things happening…like death. And since last season’s villain Sobel got away, I can’t see that same idea repeated again.
I was totally thinking the same thing. Nice twist in that I think there was an assumption that Jax’s dad was the love of Gemma’s life and Clay just was there after John Teller died. But the idea that Clay maybe stole Gemma away from Teller…that’s intriguing.

Um… do we really need spoiler tags? I’m thinking that if you haven’t seen the finale, you wouldn’t be reading this thread anyway?
