My brain actually started to ooze out of my head. I needed to call in a Ceti Eel cleanup crew.
They did a pretty good job. I would recommend their services.

Now we’ll have to add The Deadliest Catch so we can see them 'barnacled-assed boats".
Bwah ha ha! Ceti Eels (Sean, don’t read this. I know it creeps you out.)
Khan: “…these are pets…not quite domesticated. They killed three of my people…including my beloved wife. You see, they enter through the ear and wrap themselves around the cereberal cortex. This renders the person very open to …ah… suggestion.”
(Chekov and Turrell scream as the Eels enter their ears).
Khan: “That’s better. … Now tell me. Why are you here, and where may I find …Admiral Kirk.”
(recited the above just now, totally from memory --which shouldn’t surprise you )
There is nothing wrong with deadliest catch. watch it sometime. It is a fantastic show.
All the Star Trek TOS movies.
Funny. I actually do watch Project Runway - but it’s my roommates’ fault not GWC.
I never said there was! I’ve seen the show…my comment was a joke.
I was a huge Buffy fan, but Fox sooo mishandled Firefly that I didn’t even care about Serenity. I don’t think I ever would have gone back to Firefly if not for GWC.
And Chuck, even though I’m a recent convert.
Star Trek: DS9 arrived during college years, and I never checked it out. I’m going to dive headlong into it one day, and I never would have put it on the list if GWC didn’t rave it up.
Stargate Universe, even though, if I understand right, it’s not got much to do with the rest of SG.
I never would have tried Sanctuary or Glee without thumbs-up from various GWC peeps. And even though they did nothing for me, I don’t feel like they were bad recommendations, as such. Just not my thing. Point being, if the collective GWC hive mind likes something, it’s worth taking a look, and often right up my alley.
I actually watch MNF, but that’s The GF’s fault.
I used to watch PR, but then I found the Project Rungay blog…better than the show.
Tim Gunn!!! he’s ossim!!!
Mostly books. The Book club has generated a plethora of stuff, I’ve never taken the time to check out.
Old Man’s War, John Scalzi
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith
Snow Crash, Neal Stephenson
Watchmen, Alan Moore
I Am Legend, Richard Matheson
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, Philip K. Dick
I’ve enjoyed all of these and the discussions.
If it wasnt for GWC I never would have stumbled onto the sultry stylings of the lovely Leif Garrett!
Thanks GWC
Oh. sorry. I am so used to defending Deadliest Catch, I have a bit of a sore spot.
Fredo Corlione > " and I’m Smart! not like everyone says…Dumb…I’m smart and I want respect."
Deadliest Catch is good. I tuned out after a season or two, but I generally dig good reality TV shows: I can watch anything about people doing unusual, demanding jobs – and doing them well. Example: TLC’s Cake Boss is amazing.
Oh damn. Yeah, the thread title says ‘shows’ but I’m going through all the books recommended here (STILL reading the Game of Thrones. (Fascinating, but it’s like Black Forest Cherry Cake. You have to take a bite and then walk away for a bit to digest it.))
I can’t wait to see how the next book club selection turns out. I voted ‘all underdogs’ and now they’re all in the lead! Stuff like that is why I love this place.
No problem, no offense taken. Maybe my joke not so good if you haven’t listened to 'cast 215 yet.
Thanks to GWC, I feel like I have a five-to-eight year backlog of assorted material, a list of stuff I’d like to check out one day, from Stargate serieses to Star Wars EU comics. And so much more.
Well this morning after listening to the 'casts. I’ve picked up Conan and Xena. Plus I need to get back to watching SG and BSG. I love shows that have rich background stories and characters.
I can now update my own list to include:
Stargate SG-1: Never would have watched it if it weren’t for the non-stop love for this show.
Arrested Development: Didn’t know what the fuss was about. Ignored it for years. Finally watched the pilot on a night where I was bored. Watched three seasons in a week.
Twitter Also the V reboot, which I haven’t had a chance to watch yet, but will soon because a very good and awesome friend got it for me for Christmas! YAY!
