Ok, I did a search and no such thread exist… so I openned one. In case I simply missed it, you can delete this thread.

Smallville has been a guilty pleasure of mine. I tried to watch the pilot. Then watched intermittently in season 4, and followed since season 5. But ever since it got good in season 5, it became dissapointing, but i follow just because i am already invested and I like superman stories…

But I think this season they have turned it around. Especially now they are close to the finale, the story is dark, gripping, long thought out and they have Gaeta as a recurring scientist.

By the way, Gaeta’s got his leg back, but now forced to wear glasses.

The rating isn’t good, so… if it ends this season, it’d be unfortunate because it is just about to get really great.

The best part of the story is people are pushing Clark to kill Doomsday. And there are many forces in play. His best friend is with the Davis Bloom/Doomsday, because her presence calms the murder in him.

His friend Green Arrow is talking him into killing. Just when Clark figured out a way to resolve it without killing Davis but cast away Doomsday, his boss Tess Mercer removed that option by destroying his Phantom Zone Krystal. And it was revealed she was following the guidance which named her the savior of Kandor.

In the finale all these would come to an resolution and it’s pretty exciting… so… just to those who given up on smallville because it was a joke, things are a bit different now. Not yet perfect, but it’s getting pretty close.

Those who are not that familiar with Superman mythos can enjoy the thought out plot and occasional humor and the action as well.

Me and the Guys started watching Smallville from Polit to the current episode this year. we would put it on in the back ground while at work. your right it’s getting daraker and somewhat better, but there still is a lot of chesse left to cut out, but it’s coming around.

I have to say, I like episodes with Lois, even if they are the more cheesy ones this season.

With the Doomsday arch, I think they planned it out pretty well.

By the way, besides Gaeta (Alessandro Juliani) playing Dr. Hamilton in Smallville, did I mention that Doomsday is played by Crashdown (Sam Witwer)?

of course BSG stars have appeared in Smallville before, but usually playing Freak of the Week. But Doomsday and Dr. Hamilton seems like are going to stick around.

I have always liked smallville and especially ever since Season 5 and on getting more and more superman ish… Than this past friday watched Idol. It brought be back to my childhood and yea the Wonder Twins where cheesy characters but i think they did they well and I liked how the were portrayed awesome. It is now one of those shows I watched Live or at the earliest I am able.

I like Smallville, but I love Lois. Thank you Erica Durance for a very pleasurable viewing experience. :smiley:

Ever since Wellings got a say in the direction of the show, it has only gotten better.

The show now feels like The New Adventures of L&C but with an overall arc.

I loved the L&C series feeling and all the Lois and Clark interactions. To me that is classic superman stories and those two together is what made superman stories fun. To put an overall arc over it so it isn’t bad guy of the week is just icing on the cake.

got to say for the most part its been all roses for the last two seasons. I’ve always enjoyed it for what it was earlier, but since Miller Gough left the series reset and turned into practically a new and much superior show. not to metion it holds one of longest running tv crushes

I do love the Louis and Clark interaction this season.

everyone seems to bust on smallville but truth is its consistently a good fun show every week.

I LOVE ALLISON MACK!!!

i think the only reason i stuck around during the darkness that was season 6 was because of Allison Mack and the character Chloe…

I miss when she show involved her and Clark taking on the world. It was good times… that unfortunately has to be accompanied with Clark whining about Lana (I also loved KK but Al-Miles ruined her character).

It saddens me a little that Chloe doesn’t play that big a role, at least she isn’t the side kick and the go to person of Clark anymore. But she being the watch tower is pretty sweet… for now…

I agree this show keeps Getting better and I think what really helps you have the great comic book write Geoff Johns writing some stories now!

On that note, boy am I glad that Lana’s gone. The episodes are always better when he isnt pining over her. His whiny-bore factor increases exponentially when Lana is a recurring character.

here’s the thing i liked Lana’s character for the first two and a half seasons. after that i still liked her but it slowly deteriorated. I do think that Kristen Kreuk’s acting was almost always better than the story the writers/creators gave for her to work with. In the end i like how they left the character last season. Its not canon but i really don’t care about superman canon in terms of smallville.

The saddest thing for me is that before Smallville, Lana in the comics used to be just like Chloe… so once they have given all the cool character details to the new character Chloe, Lana as a character has NOTHING TO DO.

In reality, Lana is the new character in smallville. Chloe is the old Lana with a new name.

Yea I gree earlyer seasons I liked Lana but the stories were gettig weaker so I was happy when they finally wrote her out. I would be ok if they brought her back only if they could show Clark was over her.

Also FYI I saw best buy has smallville seasons for 14.99 a season all are sale except season 8

that’s interesting; it would be a complete switch to think of Lana filling the Chloe role. kind of makes want read some superman comics to see the differences. I will say it was a waste of a really good actor to just make her the object of affection and get knocked out a bunch of times.
