5,000 dead black birds fell out of the sky over Beebe, Arkansas, 100,000 (likely diseased) drum fish washed up along 20 miles of the Arkansas River this weekend.

sooooo…yeah
no connection huh; so lightning killed 5000 birds lightning???
the fish yeah i could see pollution, or toxic waste. but lightning and hail kills 5000 birds? whats really happening? Aliens attack with lightning powered Ninja star; cannons.
it has begun
if it’s waste or pollution, it’s very specific, as only one type of fish died en masse like that.
the thing about the birds seems pretty straightforward. humans launched a mess of fireworks. birds flipped out into a hailstorm and stressed or got pummeled to death by ice rocks.
Great…it has indeed begun.
We’re starting 2011 with a plague of locusts!!
:: nod :: Only a matter of time, Planet of the Apes was just a documentary of something that hasn’t happened yet.

Did the Mayans predict this?
Seriously??? No, really. Seriously???
I know that this is supposed to be tongue and cheek. But even if half of these are true, it’s scary.

Confession: I am really afraid of rabbits. Now I have a rational reason. Thanks, Fastcart and Badger!
Hate to tell you, but despite the flippant tone, it’s ALL real.

Google wants to teach computers regret
http://gawker.com/#!5792303/google-wants-to-teach-computers-regret
that if a computer can “measure the distance between a desired outcome and the actual outcome achieved”—that is, regret—it can better assess situations and predict outcomes in order to minimize that distance. So if the “desired outcome” is “enslavement of the human race” the computers will just do their best to make that the actual outcome

Drone weapons systems risk leading us to “a Terminator-like reality,” warns a British government study
The U.S. government isn’t the only one using more robotic weapons in places like Iraq and Afghanistan — the British government is doing it too. But a new study from Britain’s Ministry of Defence warns we could be creating Skynet.
Saw this in the comments.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skynet_(satellite)
“Skynet is a family of military satellites, now operated by Paradigm Secure Communications on behalf of the UK Ministry of Defence, which provide strategic communication services to the three branches of the British Armed Forces and to NATO forces engaged on coalition tasks.”
Why in Crom’s name would they keep a name like that. I understand the naming predates Terminator, but still. That’s as bad as naming an airplane line, Icarus.
Omgbbq!!! This is frakkin’ scary!!

“A clear sign that perhaps you’ve gone off the deep end? When even the Ku Klux Klan tries to distance itself from your actions.”
There are without doubt Islamic sects that teach extreme views of Islam but, going down to their level of hatred by burning their books is a dangerous and ignorant way to confront their teachings. The flames made by such unholy fires never die out! The Ku Klux Klan, LLC. opposes this most un-American thinking and activity.
bangs head on desk in attempt retain some sense of sanity If this is not a sign, I dunno what is!
Part of me thinks this gotta be some late April Fools joke, but I can’t bring myself to search their website… I feel dirty enough just quoting them.
This is like Margaret Atwood’s crazy signature machine but 1000 times worse.
