The family recently went up to a friend’s cabin. These are good friends to have: gourmet chefs, tequila afficiandos and overall wonderful people. I was keeping my friend Sam company as he prepping a grill (on one of his five grills). The following moment started happening so I ran inside for my camera. I am pleased with how it turned out:
One misstep and you’re up close and personal with Mr. cactus. Oooof.
Isn’t this Daffy Duck doing Thai Chi?
Oh, wow! That’s an amazing picture, Solai. I love it!
I took this one of the lights off I-90 on my way to work one night.
Isla Mujeres from the plane, leaving Cancun Airport. Please forgive the date stamp. I forgot to turn it off…
The one gecko I was quick enough to get a picture of.
This is Cedric, the gnome who travelled with me to Mexico. He doesn’t look like he’s having fun being buried in the sand, does he?
I love the idea of “barn as Amish refrigerator door”…
Is that the Smoke Monster???
Well, one apple and a fortune cookie. The rest was Burger King ketchup packets (probably 50 or more).
Was it post meal? If so, I don’t see the problem.
Oh no, that wasn’t post-meal. That was the “decorative” centerpiece that was always there, smack dab in the middle of the dining room table. No one ate the apple or the fortune cookie for several days after I took the picture (for all I know, they may still be there). They had, however, added to the ketchup collection.
Awesome pics. That sounds like such an interesting place to travel. Is Satan’s illusion of evolution really as good as they claim?
Tequila aficionados? I have some friends like that. Except that around here, we call them “drunks”.

That is really cool. So what’s happening exactly? Is it shooting sparks?
Two things are happening: my friend has stacked charcoal into a chimney which tends to heat them up faster. They are sparking because his grill uses a propane flame to further accelerate the process of heating up the coal.
Is that a way of verbally sugarcoating an explosion?
hahahaha…not at all. Very focused heat is being applied to charcoal to bring up the temperature rapidly, that’s all. The result, besides quickly heated charcoal is a spark storm.
Not as good as a picture, but certainly another contented sea lion…
…and this is the lava lizard I wasn’t quick enough to get a picture of…
I’ve pretty much fallen for the illusion, and its not just me. Despite being quite a religious country its nice to see that Ecuadorians do not have the problems accepting evolution that Americans do.
Could you imagine a bust of Darwin in a school court yard?
And if you squint just right you can find good ole Chucky-D in this mural next to the customs office.
I have not traveled much so this is a bit of nature around my home. I really do need to get back to taking pictures. Thank you for the inspiration.
Yes the woodpecker is nesting in my orange tree.
In other words, an explosion.
Satan’s lies are just that good.

Ignoring available evidence is one of our national virtues…

Only if it was on fire.
I love dogs so here are some pictures of them.
Some more photos where I experimented with B&W photos. I think they give it more of a WWII look.
Thank you for your service.
I love this one. Great shot!
Teach the controversy. I like that.
I like them until I saw the back to school sign. I hate back to school sales they remind me that I have to go back to work.
