San diego comic con

Grindage depends on body count. We have a couple options we’re considering. Con Fatique factored in, and all- lol! I’ll know more soon!

Dammit, Jim! I DO follow you! LOL! (I am such a Trek Tart!)

And speaking of Twitter, etc.- Let’s have a phone tree/twitter thang. I only have an itouch, so I’ll need wifi. Last year, the con had sponsored wifi, and it was easier to coordinate stuff. When I post again, I’ll start DMing my cell # as the time draws near!

squeee!

I just bought new batteries for my cell phone and a new mini laptop so I’m good to go

I loved the McCoy quotes from the movie!

“May I speak freely, Are you out of your Vulcan mind!!!”

Here is the Programming Map pdf. It is very useful when coordinating meetups for panels!

The hub and I will likely be in Ballroom 20 all day, Friday.

Here’s the lineup:
10:30-11:30 Stargate Universe
11:45-12:45 Caprica/BSG: The Plan
1:00-2:00 Big Bang Theory
2:15-3:00 24
3:00-3:45 Bones
4:00-5:15 Dollhouse
5:15-6:00 Joss Whedon
6:15-7:15 TV Guide Magazine: SciFi Hot List

So we figure the meetup at our place will be from 7pm - 11pm.

We need get up early to get parking for Saturday, or we’d go all night! lol!

We will have beverages, salad, dessert, and ordering pizza from Giovanni’s!

See the menu here, if you have any questions/preferences. We’ll put an initial order in, and can always order more if needed!

Here is the initial order:

The Works- pepperoni, olives, onions, mushrooms & sausage
Thai Chicken- special Thai sauce grilled chicken and chopped green onions
Roasted Garlic Chicken- with white garlic cream sauce, grilled chicken, fresh basil & diced tomatoes

See the Comic Con SD 2009 Meetup thread for the pizza poll!

We can also change one of these out, if there are enough requests! Maybe I should make a poll? lol!

Also, please let us know of any dietary restrictions, so we can help you make arrangements!

See you soon!

Please email me for directions and #s and BODY COUNT! (if you haven’t told me already!)

this post will also be located in the Meetup Section under Comic Con SD 2009 Meetup

Looks like some may need the trolley to get to our place!

If you take the Red Line from the Convention Center and exit at the Hazard Center stop, we can shuttle you to and from our house!

It looks like the last train running back to the Convention Center departs from Hazard Center by 10:55.

Service Overview: Thursday and Friday
Special Event ‘Red Line’ Service

On July 23-24, San Diego Trolley will offer its Special Event ‘Red Line’ service between Qualcomm Stadium and the Convention Center area, serving Old Town and Mission Valley stations along the way. The ‘Red Line’ will depart Qualcomm Stadium every 15 minutes beginning at 8:17 a.m. Due to fleet requirements during the afternoon commute, ‘Red Line’ service will operate every 30 minutes beginning at 1:32 p.m. from the stadium. 15 minute frequency departing the Convention Center will resume at 5:49 p.m. Special Event ‘Red Line’ will continue until 12:30 a.m. on both days, which will enclude late night service through to Santee via the Green Line.

Late night service operates every 30 minutes.

Passengers may also use regular Orange, Blue, and Green Line trains.

Special Event ‘Red Line’ timetable for Thursday & Friday

Trolley Tickets

A one-way Trolley fare is $2.50, but if you are returning on the Trolley, remember to purchase your $5 Day Pass before boarding. This will help you avoid lines at the Ticket Booth and Ticket Vending machines on your return trip. A Day Pass allows unlimited travel on MTS all day.
For those attending more than one day, MTS Day Passes are available in denominations from 1 to 4 days. A multi-day pass is your most economical way to travel to Comic Con 2009! Day Passes can be purchased at station Ticket Vending Machines or at select Trolley stations with ticket booth sales.

Day Pass Rates:
1-Day = $5
2-Days = $9
3-Days = $12
4-Days = $15

I’ve changed the meetup time to better jibe with the Trolley times!

7-11pm!

…that is all…

Lol my hotel is like one stop before Hazard if you’re coming from the convention center

Cheers to everyone able to get away…have a great time…share pics!

I posted my SDCC 2009 pictures in the GWC Meetup pool on Flickr. If there’s another GWC group that’s more appropriate, let me know and I’ll move them. For now, here’s the link:

Great pictures Frenchie! Hey, how the heck can one get one of those exclusive T-shirt that the CABC had for the con?! I’d love to get one.

My friend Jaime took her daugther who is 12 and she loved it! They met David T and John B from DW and TR. AnneMarie is a huge fan of the GWC and wishes she was old enough to join the forum.

Her daughter told EJO that he really needs to call the GWC crew and talk to them, I dont know if she gave your number or not but she did tell him about the website and the forum.
