Comic con is a tradition for me, I’ve been going to the con since i was 10-11 years old. I really want to go this year, given that this will probably be the last year that Lost will be there. Hope to see you guys in San Diego!
Yup… bought my 4 day pass just in time, and barely got a room… the BSG panel’s gonna rock, I’m gonna get in line extra early for that one.
I go every year so I will be sure to make it!

I am so jealous. I don’t think I can make it, but there is always next year. Since it is unlikely I will be there, let me just say, TopGun, please use your mad camera skills for those of us not there. I will enjoy it via photo.

I’ll be in San Diego from July 21-July28. I’ve been going to comic con since 92, and it just gets crazier and crazier every year. I’m interested to see what kind of tool twitter will play for all the attendees this year. I hope to have an awesome meetup down there. There are so many great places to eat and drink, it’ll be awesome!
The hub and I go every year since '96!
We are doing some recon on places to stay for those who have not yet booked rooms, or were unable to get in on the room deals before they sold out!
We will also have ideas for places to meetup- Ryan, you’ve got the awesome angle there, too!
Little Italy is a trolley ride away to the less congested parts of town, and Hillcrest has killer food places.
Depends how far you want to drive/crawl- lol!
I’ve been assuming so, but you know what happens when you assume (you get a Hamlet 2 panel at a comic convention)… The Plan comes out the month before, so people will want to gather for that… at least they’ll probably have a Caprica panel.
I’m booked. The kids and I have tickets for Friday and ConnerAZ and I will volunteer on Saturday so we can go that day since all the Sat. Only and 4 day passes are sold out. I’m so excited!
We must have a meetup!
I’m looking forward to it, but for the first time this year I’m feeling a little bored with it all. The crowds start to wear on you by Saturday. And too many panels I wanted to see I got shut out of even after getting in line AN HOUR beforehand. Having to show up earlier than that just seems, I dunno, like the opposite of fun. Still a cool scene. Little Italy is a good idea for a place to eat/drink/hang out during down time, as it’s mostly flat and walkable from the convention center, not to mention great food and only blocks from the San Diego Bay waterfront. The Waterfront bar and grill has some of the best cheeseburgers and fish and chips in town, and lots of great Italian food (obviously) but my favorite is Mona Lisa’s, a great restaurant AND deli.
I had similar feelings last year, and even though I already have my 4-day pass for this year, I’m considering not going.
I am definitely going to DragonCon again this year, though. Big difference in the vibe between CC and D*Con - but I’ll avoid that topic (Con Wars).

Yo GWC crew. I am thinkin of headin to comiccon in San Diego this year. I was wondering if anyone had an extra room in a hotel or a cheaper place to stay the night for 4 nights. Also is anyone else looking for someone to share a room with. This will be my first con so I really want to go. My email is martoksg3@shaw.ca. Any help would be totally awesome.
Any ideas on room possibilities? I am still firming up my decision to go/stay (I have my 4-day pass). If I go, I will probably volunteer at the Browncoat booth again this year, but I want to hang with the GWC folks. I still don’t have a room. Will buy flight soon.
We have a condo in Oceanside through Saturday and will probably stay in a hotel up there Saturday night. I volunteer on Saturday but won’t know my shift assignment for quite a while. I’d love to meetup with GWcers.
