I have been intending to come in here and post since the chat the other night. Clearly that didn’t happen. Time management…not always good with that.

So anyway here are some relevant links.

Here is the hotel. http://www.countryinns.com/rochester-hotel-ny-14623/nyrochea I usually book with hotels.com. In fact I plan on booking a room this week. I will be happy to share with whomever wants to. If we need a backup - there is a LaQuinta “next door”.

Here is the one brunch place I’d mentioned earlier http://www.hicksandmccarthy.com/Menus.aspx They don’t mention mimosas but they do offer a Rojet Brut so we could make our own. This place is great for dinner I have to imagine that their brunch is as well but is on the higher end at $22 each http://www.mariosit.com/sundaybrunch_photogallery.asp - they do mention mimosas specifically.

grumble, it looks like the hotel mentioned above is short on rooms. I can’t find availability for rooms with more than one bed. Now there is the LaQuinta next door or the other Country Inn and Suites…hmmmmm I know that none of you know the hotels involved but do you have any opinions on the chains? I’ve not stayed at the LaQunita but the other CI&S is not bad.

I don’t think I’ve been in a LaQuinta Country Inn and Suites was nice whenI I was in it. I can tell you that both are in the area around Chrysler HQ & used by them for people coming in from out of town

I’m thinking about coming up from Cleveland for this. It’s just below 4 hours away. If anyone from the surrounding area wants to come with, they’re welcome. I’ll be returning on that Monday :slight_smile:

Oh and I officially booked into the Country Inns in Henrietta. I got a queen/queen. It is average of 118 a night for the 2 nights with pre purchase. That was basically the rate I found on several travel sites as well.

I’d have to backtrack 90 minutes. I’m right on the OH/PA line. It’s only 4 1/2 hours from where I am if I go into PA and take 79 up to 90.

I would really like to make this meetup. Can somebody tell me how far is rochester from New York City (I’m a total city girl, so I don’t know what to expect in Rochester). Also, I need to know if I need to rent a car for the weekend.

I love the idea of blues and barbecue, also brewry is fine, butI’m more of a wine drinker myself.

Rochester looks to be a 6 hour drive from the city. Not sure of train options, but I would say a car was needed. However you may want to talk to Default and Keir - they may have room if you can get to Long Island or CT. That may be easier.

OK, so it looks like my plans changed, and I am likely going to join everyone converging on Rochester. I would prefer to share a room with at least 1 other person, although I am not averse to more. I am likely driving from the Philly area, although I may be meeting Badger out closer to him since that is pretty much due South of Rochester.

So do I need to get a room, or does someone already have a room I can crash in (preferably in a bed). I am a little behind on the planning/what is going on since I was pretty sure I wasn’t going to be able to make it since I was to be watching my friends dogs while they were in England visiting her mum. But seems that has been pushed back to Sept, so this is looking like a much stronger possibility.

Hooray Raemani!

I am unsure about hotel rooms, I will be staying with Madamruppy Saturday. K & S were going to crash with us when they got in Sunday. I think DP & Keir are staying with J-Bob, not positive. That’s really all I know of hotel arrangements right now.

DP, Keir & I are planning on arriving sometime Saturday.

We have tentative plans to go bowling Saturday night, brunch Sunday morning & mini-golf/go karts Sunday night.

That’s the extent of my current knowledge of plans
