Red Dead Redemption

Is anyone playing this? I’m having a crap ton of fun with it so far.

Feels the western void in my heart.

Heck yeah! I love RDR. I think I am most of the way through the game, but there is so Mich to do even once the storyline is done there is a ton do do.I have been working on some of the hunting and sharpshooter challenges and having a great time with it

I warn you though, beware the tall trees area once you get to the third chapter of the game, it is extremely frustrating when you get steamrolled by 3 grizzley bears at once. I never knew bears were pack hunters! Hah!

I rented it last week, and really dug it. I’ll get it one of these days when the price comes down, or used I guess. Sadly didn’t do too much of the on-line multi-player, wish I would have now. Did you guys, and was it fun?

Like Visigoth said about the bears, one of the best “oh-crap” moments was wen a cougar unexpectedly jumped out of the trees and mauled me! Had my heart pumping for sure!

I bought the game on DOR and have haven’t played anything since. In my opinion, this game is vastly superior to the GTA franchise in every level; the enviroment feels more realistic, the interactivity with NPCs are more involving, and the storytelling is much more engaging. I raved about it to the guys at my workplace and two of them got copies and are playing it just as entusiastically.

Right now I have just come back across the border from Mexico and am trying to get the pieces to the Assassin’s suit, getting a level three hunters ranking, and handling some of the side-missions I haven’t gotten to complete before I head back south. This is one game I hope never ends.

BRING ON THE DLCs!!!

I just did my first duel in thieves rest

About to play some more, going to have me some good ole fashioned fun. I love that if you shoot a guys hat off you get it for your 360 avatar.

really enjoying it so far, anyone else get the ‘dastardly’ acheivement yet?

hint hogtie a ‘lady of the evening’ at one of the saloons, have your horse ready, take her out to the railroad somewhere where you won’t be bothered, and lay her on the tracks and wait for the train and watch

mwuahahahahahahah twirls mustache

I may go get that one today

I made an attempt to get that achievement, but I got a wanted level and the law came around gunned me down before I could get her on the train tracks.

what I did was go in Armadillo at night, there’s usually one that hangs behind the saloon, have your horse right by you before you start, hogtie, throw on, then gallop away like the wind until the wanted part is gone, ride to somewhere where you see the train is going to be and wait

Just finished the main game, hell of an ending.

Since it isn’t released for PC, I can’t play it.
Loved San Andreas and Vice City, and am eager to play the later titles, but need either a gaming console plus a TV, or a better equipped Laptop/Desktop PC.

I loved the ending and I can’t wait for the new DLCs coming out soon, especially Zombies.

One hell of a game… even better than mass effect, best storytelling in a game I have ever played.

Really? Now don’t get me wrong, I loved Red Dead Redemption, but better than Mass Effect?

yep mass effect changed the standard at which i judge video games but red dead did everything right for me. loved the free roam just riding around hunting or breaking horses or going after a gang for some loot was great, characters and subplots were almost never boring. and just who was the mystery man? and the ending dear god the ending just great, wont gush to much cause of spoilers, but that spot in the game that most games would have ended but it went on, with new different missions and than the twist… well i just loved it. not since rockstar savagely ripped off scarface for vice city (still not sure how they weren’t sued) have they really told an excellent story in realm of a sandbox game.

really it was a landmark in gaming.

Anyone still playing this? I finally got a copy at Christmas time, and started playing last week. Loving it so far!

I’ve only spent a little time in the multi-player, got my cowboy hat handed to me! Still fun though! Let me know if you’re up for a game, and an almost sure win! Ha!

360 or PS3?

Sorry about that! Xbox 360 version.

I played it for a little bit before Christmas. Haven’t had a chance to play it since then.

Heck, even picked up Black Ops…maybe played it ten minutes.

Beginning to think I don’t have the lifestyle to justify spending $60 on console games anymore.
