Do you think that the Japanese are insane? This person would agree with you…
http://www.cracked.com/article_18567_6-japanese-subcultures-that-are-insane-even-japan_p1.html

Though I personally have always thought that the Dekotora thing is pretty cool, and our own ‘Teen Wolf’ Craze is at least as pathetic as some those trends listed in the above article. No matter what they do I will always find the Japanese fascinating.

Japanese pop music is widely regarded by experts to be terrible.

I find that hard to believe. Sorta… I’m like the only person I know IRL and in EVE who likes J-pop…

It is a ‘Cracked’ article, they are always harsh with their humor, I never take it seriously…

And when I refered to ‘this person’ I was refering to the writer of the article, just to be clear. I find the Japanese to be fascinating myself, some are very eccentric to be sure, but what culture does not have eccentric people in it?

Do you see the light?!?

Someone at the Vatican is taking the Blues Brothers line “we’re on a mission from God” a little too seriously. Over the years, Catholic authorities at the Vatican have endorsed a number of films as being recommended viewing for good Catholics. It’s mostly the expected stuff: The Passion of the Christ, It’s a Wonderful Life, The Ten Commandments.

Now The Blues Brothers has been added to the list. Must’ve been Aretha Franklin’s line about two guys looking like ‘Hasidic diamond merchants’ that put the film over the top.
THR says that this week, the 30th anniversary of the film’s first release, L’Osservatore Romano, the Vatican’s official newspaper, said the film is a “Catholic classic” and called it recommended viewing for Catholics everywhere.

Now, OK, sure Dan Aykroyd does say that the Blues Brothers are on a mission from God as they attempt to reform their old blues band to raise money to keep their childhood orphanage open. And they have a certain amount of grudging respect for the nun that raised them. (Not enough respect to stop calling her ‘the penguin,’ but we’ll take what we can get.)

Jake does have a religious epiphany of sorts, and I applaud the Vatican for endorsing a film where a character sees the light not at a Catholic Mass, but during an electric gospel performance at an evangelical church. Pretty forward thinking, when it comes to the Vatican, especially since Jake yells “Jesus H. tap-dancing Christ!” as he sees the light.

But that’s par for the course with The Blues Brothers, which is now the second most profane movie endorsed by the Vatican, after The Passion of the Christ. What do you think is a less likely follow-up endorsement: Blues Brothers 2000, or the movie John Landis made after the Blues Brothers, An American Werewolf in London?

Per Empire Online - Last year it was reported that Jeffrey Price and Peter S. Seaman were penning a sequel to “Who Framed Roger Rabbit”. So is it still going to happen? “Yeah, I couldn’t possibly comment. I deny completely, but yeah… if you’re a fan, pretty soon you’re going to be very, very, very happy” says Hahn.

…oh yes, there’s shall be squee-ing

Jessica Rabbit in 3D? That would make me squeeeee!

“I’m not bad… I’m just projected that way.”

NPH does a brief intro.

A ‘Last Airbender’ press kit has been released, click the link to see 29 high resolution photos and info on the movie-

Good: It looks awesome in terms of quality, effects, costumes and makeup.

Bad: From the trailers it appears they are going to condense the entire storyline into just ONE MOVIE. Very bad… it should be spread over three movies, one movie for each element he must learn to master.

Bad: The Avatar world is asian, VERY asian. And yet there are only TWO asian actors in the entire film. Ang and the Fire Lord… WTF!?!

A few details have been released about the film-

I’m pumped about the airbender movie. I think the show is some of the best storytelling on television in decades.

From what I’ve seen though it looks like the first movie is just going to be the first season. Either that, or they’re cutting Toph from the story altogether (her character wasn’t cast for this film).

Ladies and gentlemen, we have the world’s first lightsaber…sorta.
