Presidential Election Frak Party

Going on, right now!

Election Fever, Catch It!*

*(Not to be confused with hay fever, yellow fever or jungle fever. Symptoms may vary. See you doctor if effects persist.)

CNN just called Pennsylvania, and Kay Hagan beat Elizabeth Dole. This is getting interesting.

What channels are you all watching? CNN? MSNBC? FOXVader?

I’m mainly walking in and out of the room while my hubby watches CNN. The pundits drive me crazy. It just won’t be the same without Tim Russert and his white board. :frowning:

Predictable prez results here in CT, watching my district closely for the local yokels, but CNN on the tube, and npr.org on the 'puter for verification purposes. The “projections” made in areas where only 5-10% of results are in just amaze me…talk about counting chickens…

CNN called 174-49 for Obama. Add to that the west coast state, CA, OR, WA, that’s 247 for Obama. So, Obama needs 24 more to win. Florida counts for 27, so that’ll lock it up for him if he gets Florida. And it looks like he’s ahead in Florida, with 50% reporting.

Once Florida is called for Obama, McCain is mathematically eliminated.

Yeah, I’d have to agree. It would completely piss me off if I was standing in some long line and heard that my state’s winner had been “called” already. It would make me feel like “why bother when I could just go home and sit in my pajamas in front of the tv?” There are people here in PA who I am sure are experiencing that very thing right now.

real election coverage doesn’t start for me until Stewart/Colbert at 10 ET

According to CNN.com’s exit poll, 6% of PA voters decided whom to vote for…

TODAY.

WTF is wrong with these people???

I hope they got names and addresses.

Well, they are actually waiting until 5~10% is in to call a state, because they are trying to be careful. They could really call it much earlier if they wanted. But they are trying to be conservative in calling states, because they got burned badly by declaring “President Kerry” in 2004.

Actually, I should say CNN is being conservative in calling. NBC is just calling left and right… completely shooting from the hips.

I see one at 10pm and one at 11pm. Is this a 2 hour coverage, or a repeat?

I believe it’s a repeat since 11 is Stewart’s usual timeslot

Will they ever learn??? Good grief!

These are the people that are listening to the idiots that are telling people to just “go vote”. NOOOOO. You educate yourself on the candidates and then make a wise decision. You do NOT JUST GO VOTE!

Hello everyone!

The 10:00 Daily show is LIVE with Stephen Colbert! Make sure you watch it!

I will be drinking peach stoli & oj to make ti through the this…I am severely nervous this evening!

ABC & Fox are calling Ohio for Obama.

I gotta’ feel a little bad for McCain. I voted for Obama and I didn’t feel McCain’s policies were right for the country right now, but I don’t think McCain is a bad guy, in the Dick Cheney Supervillain-sense. I have a lot of respect for him, so there’s this girly part of me that feels bad for him. I just hate to see anyone disappointed. I’m such a sap.

So, ABC, NBC is calling Ohio for Obama. That’s 20 more. Now Obama only needs 4 more to mathematically eliminated McCain.

New Mexico’s now called for Obama, with 5 votes. With this, it puts Obama over 271, assuming CA, WA, OR goes to Obama.

It’s now over. McCain is mathematically eliminated. We have a new president.

feeling for the underdog is a sign of character. empathy=good

as for McCain, if he hadn’t sold out to appease the base, if he were the same man who ran against W 8 years ago, I (and a lot of other people) might have voted for him

Well, I guess that’s exactly it…he sold out. I won’t go into the other things that pushed me over and back completely to the Democrat side of things. I just know that at some point McCain had a chance with me and at some point he blew it.

I agree. No one feels good being up on a defenseless old man, in favor for a rock star. But the fact of the matter is, McCain is not the same “mavericky” person that ran 8 years ago. He is a GOP party puppet at the moment. And I can’t forgive him for Sarah Palin.
