I shoot primarily in Oakland and San Francisco. The picture above with the lady doing the fan dance was at a burlesque show. Most bigger cities have a burlesque scene, and a good number of places will let you photograph provided you don’t look like you’re perving out.
I actually got a job shooting for a burlesque class just for showing up and then giving copies of the pics i shot to the lady who organized it. She started using my pictures on fliers and then it went from there.
The most recent pic is just me and a friend shooting pool. Pool tables make good subjects too. nice vibrant colors.
i’m loving the sigma 30mm 1.4 lens that i picked up a few weeks ago. since my xsi doesn’t have a full fram sensor, the 1.6x magnification that happens makes my 30mm behave like a 48mm. Framing has been easier and i like the nice smooth backgrounds i’ve been getting when shooting at 1.4

Hay life, computer, work etc. have gotten me way behind in the picture a day. So I do my best and post in groups. I tend to take pictures on the weekend. Once the camera is in my hand off I go. Getting the camera in my hand is not so easy. Do post all pictures you may find that you are to picky about your pictures. You also may get feedback on how to improve the pictures you do not like. It is not like we are so perfect. Take a risk. Go for it.
I have some pictures of the meet up and the side trip to the 6th floor museum. I will be back to posting them soon. My computer will be here by the latest Monday.
