Pan's Labyrinth 6/25 @ 10 PM ET

And Franco remained in power until 1975. Yeah.

There’s a reason that political violence and injustice often inspire people to action (within a social system, or in art).

Randomly, there was a piece on Lorca’s bones in last week’s New Yorker, it speaks to some of the same issues.

The wipes help tell the tale as well, the linking of the two stories (the girl’s fantasy and the real world). The two worlds will intertwine as the film progresses.

I don’t want to sound insensitive but that guy deserves a face beating just for wearing that hat.

She’s like Alice, but in green

The Captain has Prince Humperdink tracking skills.

I remember hearing that too.

They’re at once familiar (many Spanish friends) and amusing (we don’t speak like that around here).

Yeah, it sounds like a really bad lisp.

A very odd portrayal of a faun, since this is how they usually appear:

I never knew you were such a film buff. You would break 15,000 if we watched a Kurosawa movie. :stuck_out_tongue:

Down the rabbit hole…with cockroaches and slimy frogs.

Who? The Captain? I kinda like it. It’s snazzy. :stuck_out_tongue:

He does appear to be most put out.

eeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwww

See, key to the Captain…key to the princess. Parallels or Contrast, whichever.

I think I saw this scene in an episode of South Park once.

I will say, I do like the structure of the film quite a bit.

I think that key was a bit too moist for my liking.

Lemiwinks was also a great hero. :stuck_out_tongue:

Ugh, Franco won not because they were right but because Hitler helped him out. among many other things.

Love when Ofelia smiles having disappointed the Captain.

Just like a woman, thinking her stories are interesting.

I keed! I keed!

The capitan = ofelia’s mom relationship is just very, very disturbing. Not unexpected given the circumstances, though.

See, Hitler helped someone. No one ever remembers the nice things he did.
