I was wondering about the new 6 that was in bed with Baltar. We haven’t seen her before, and we didn’t see her interact with any other characters. Given Baltar’s past experience with women, was she real or was she a Head 6?
That’s a really good question. I thought, at first that she might have been Gina, but Gina would never, NEVER, have worn that purple lipstick…and the whole- she was probably too far away from a Resurrection ship thingy…The husband and I, after watching it twice, have come to know her as “Hippy Goddess Six.”
She has a name, so I think she is real.
I didn’t hear her called by name - what is it?
Her name is Lida.
I am sure that Gina is “dead”. Remember why Gina recieved the nuke.
SHe told Baltar that she wasnted it in order to truely die. She wouldn’t be able to download if she were nuked that far out.
Baltar basicly did it because Rosylyn ( yes I am blameing her) becuase he was getting no respect, and was being ploted against in the election. Gina was the only “human” contact that he had. He basicly loved her and helped her die.
So assumeing Gina was telling the truth, ( and Baltar’s a pretty smart guy… he might have known it to be true scientificly)… she is dead and gone forever.
I think that Lida is real - because why did Baltar get a nice bed? Besides which, if we wanted HeadSix then I think they would have shown HeadSix, not this Lida character.
This may be a stretch, but what if this is actually the Cylon God. Why i feel it could be God is the when we first meet this new Six, she is wearing a robe very similar to the robes that the Final Five wore in the vision. she was not wearing a fluffy cotton robe like she had just gotten out of the goo tub. Second, she appeared almost angelic in her form with the flowing hair and almost glow to her facial features. Lastly, she asked Baltar if he was (hurt/injured) not damaged like he was used to hearing from Cylons. I am sure this is way out there, but i would be so cool if I was right, guess I will have to wait and see.
i think she is real. It would be off for Baltar to have a vision then tell a head six about it. Head six…or all the head characters for that matter have been there to convince the character to do something or act in a certain manner. I don’t remember them ever being there to just talk to.
I like that idea that this Six is the Cylon God. It fits with another pet theory of mine, that Head Six is, literally, the Devil. The only thing is, I can’t see how, in the context of the show, they could explain/reveal this.
Well, the angel and devil 6’s could be done like they do in every other movies on the shoulder, but having a physical being on each side of him could be done and not look too hokey since there are many 6 models. Then you open the can of worms where you could go with Baltar is the figurative Jesus with being tempted by the devil on one side and guided by the angel on the other.
This is kind of what I was thinking. The way she was filmed it just seemed so unreal. I was wondering if it was another manifestation of Head 6, as in the Sweat Suit 6 we saw when he was having his doubts about the Cylon God. The main Head 6 which seems to be based more on an idealized version of Caprica 6 is usually more authoritarian in her mode of guiding Baltar to particular actions. Maybe she’s realizing that he is almost ready to make the final revelation, and just needed a little nudge to he could make it on his own. Then again if the character has been provided a name I suspect she was real…
No she is fake. It’s a TV Show!
she real . that model is the only one that will sleep with him. and not cry;)
I like the theory of the devil and the angel. Does it mean anything that she had ‘Natalie-hair’ as opposed to ‘Caprica 6 hair’? The only reason I ask is because we hadn’t seen another 6 who resembled Natalie until this one (I don’t think Gina even resembled her, did she?). It’s a small question but at the time I saw her that’s what struck me.
Or it could be as simple as this is Tricia Helfer’s current hair length and style (see Burn Notice) and it was just easier than making her wear another wig. I dunno.
of course the new 6 could be the wolf in sheeps clothes by actually being the devil tempting Baltar with the flesh. This is a test he actually pasted by saying that he has to attend to his flock. Very Jesus like that storyline seems.
If head 6 is the Devil then what do we make of Head Baltar?
Its an interesting idea.
Does Lida mean anything?
Names on this show sometimes hint their characters identity.
I was wondering that too.
Especially since where I first saw it was in all caps, I was thinking it was an acronym. But then aren’t all character names capitalized in scripts? So maybe I’m overthinking it.
I believe that all-caps names is standard practice in scripts, yes.
