Federation Class Dreadnought, Franz Joseph’s Tech Manual (THE Tech Manual, thankyouverymuch.)
However, that’s not from that book.

BINGO!! I still have an original 70’s book I got as a kid. Hardcover of course.
No, Dreadnought! had the Star Empire, and it was actually not a Federation Class ship like the one you showed. I think I saw yours in Starfleet Battles… ?
Here is a better pic of it.
I believe it, and the other Joseph designs, ended up in SFB. It was a little pocket universe, which deserves saving. (There was a point where they were selling clear plastic models for cloaked ships. That’s pretty frakin’ cool.)
Okay, this is a guess totally off the top of my head: Loknar class? Looks familar from my FASA Star Trek Role Playing Game
Yup, I’ve got the original hardcover SF Technical Manual too. Was (is) among my fav possesions.
I used to take drawings like that and redraw them so they were like 18 inches long.
As I a kid I had such redrawings hung on my room wall. A Destroyer, A Heavy Cruiser and a Dreadnaught. And a Tug too I think. I’m such a geek!!
I think you’re right about the Loknar class:

I recognize it, I used to collect the books at conventions as a kid even thought I didn’t play the FASA game (I preferred SFB).
When I made my fan page for Begin:Tactical Starship Combat, I had to pick likely matches for various ship classes. Might be fun to check out sometime. Great game, too:

I still have a box of miniatures from SFB, they were cool. I used to even buy the lead ones and paint them, one time I did a crossover with my little Starship Yamato models. That was hysterical…
Everyone had a blast! “What? Fire and smoke in space???”
Do you still have the insert for the front? That seems to be the first thing to go. I thought I had lost mine until about a year ago when I realized I had tucked it into the inside of the cover when I was a kid (it looks cooler without it.)
Name the Federation Fighters in the pic, extra points for the Cardassian vessel.
Peregrine class, I believe.
Do I need to guess that the Cardassian ship appears to be a Galor Class to get a confirmation on whether I got the Peregrine right?
Yar! Avast, I’ll be postin’ anyhow and take my licks if I be wrong on my answer above.
Name this starship class:
Looks like a modified Miranda class (like Reliant).
Check out this drawing I made when I was maybe 12 (13, 14?) years old.
I found it tucked away in my Star Fleet Technical Manual.
What’s happening in the picture, is a huge armada of Star Fleet vessels is coming through a space/time rift from the future, and the Enterprise happens to be there to encounter them. The tugs you see there (according to my pre-teen imagination) are outfitted for war and contain Galactica-style launch tubes from which Viper-like fighters can be launched.
Amazing to think that I might not have saved it if I hadn’t stuck it in the technical manual. And more amazing still, that I’m over 40 and showing it to the kind of people that will get a kick out of it.
You are quite the artist, Thot!
That is pretty SUH-weet! The only thing I have tucked away giggle among my Star Trek paraphernalia is an autograph from René Auberjonois (Odo, Colonel West).
That. Is. OSSIM.
Thanks. I think I probably traced the outline of each starship from the Star Fleet Technical Manual, but still …it’s amazing what a 13 year geek kid could in his spare time back before the days before Xbox’s, Wii’s and Nintendos.
