Who are the most annoying characters?

Admittedly his character is better if you watch Star Trek in the original Russian.

Wesley?
Since Wes was the same age as me (the first time viewing) I thot it was pretty cool to have someone my age on the Enterprise.
Troi?
After they changed her role from “Pain, horrible pain” to Captain’s confidant and ship’s counselor (her scenes with Barclay were great).
Nog?
Nog’s journey from ignorant Ferengi teen to Starfleet Lt. junior grade was one of the best DS9 character arcs.
Rom? Leeta?
Imma put these two together. They had the best marriage / relationship in the whole Star Trek universe.
Jake?
JAKE-O!! Gotta say his relationship with his dad was very well played. It was good to have a father son relationship , especially since Ben was the commander.
Ezri?
She had some big shoes to fill. And she was a cutie.
Janeway?
Can’t really fault Janeway. She took on the Delta Quadrant and got her crew home.
Harry Kim?
Too easy. He’s playing the fresh-faced Ensign.
Neelix?
Neelix was fun. Come on. Admit it.
Hoshi?
I love Mirror Hoshi aka Naughty Hoshi.
Seven?
WHUT?!? Her character single-handedly saved the series.
Travis?
Useless? Yes. Annoying? I think Travis had a total of 20 lines in the whole series.
Who the hell is Travis and what series was this character on?!

Travis was the navigator/helmsman of the Enterprise NX-01 from the series Enterprise. I’m not surprised you didn’t know who he was. As I mentioned, he had like 20 lines the whole series.
poor Travis… he was good looking and had an interesting background… too bad the writers didn’t pay attention to him…
i can see my views of who’s annoying is pretty alone in this pole… but I didn’t like Hoshi, because she was either useless or totally freaking out (except mirror episode).
Come to think of it, every major East Asian character in Trek is protrayed in two ways.
- Well trained but young, inexpereince and naiive (Sulu, Kim).
- Well trained but totally useless and total whiner (Keiko, Hoshi).
That reminded me, you left out Keiko in this most annoying character poll… i think if you had her on the list there would be no competition.
OMG ! I forgot about Kes… I haven’t done a rewatch of Voyager… forgot she was even a cast memeber! Good call chuck… If I could edit… I would add and vote 4 times!
I think we should have a one on one death match between Keiko and Kes… maybe throw Wesley in there… those seems to be the most common when talking about annoying characters in Trek.
I added Pavel… jsut to have somebody from tos on the list… I didn’t vote for him, but as my girlffriend pointed out that he should definitly be in consideration. She says: "if you didn’t grow up with TOS, Checkov doesn’t stand the test of time. He really is a goober. His accent is annoying, and he is actually as pointless as Travis. He get’s basicly thee episodes where he has any scenes that matter. (hippy episode, Day of the Dove, and Trouble with tribbles) Pretty much all other appearences could have been a red shirt. Pavel didn’t have any characterization other than an accent and saying “wussion inwention”
Also… as I have noted many times, the characters are written differently in the movies than TOS… Checov in ST2 and 3 are pretty good. Thing about checov… he is still playing the “kid” in St 2 post ceti eel.(you could argue that he was in shock and regressing) and still acting as if he were 30 years too young in st4,5,6. Rewatch those films and tell me he looks like a 30 year vet of the flagship of the feet.
I give him a free pass cause I like him… and TOS was NOT an ensamble cast… well I guess it was … but just the Big three.
I also should have added ST 4-6 Scotty and old fat, whore acting Uhura from Star Trek 5 and Quark’s mom.
My girlfriend also said the Gand Nagiss, and Weyon should be on the list… at which point I informed her to get in the kitchen and make me some Pie!
Call me crazy… but Keiko served a purpose to me. She was an elisted man’s needy wife that usually causes him to have to miss duty and be grumpy. She was probably the most realistic character ( comeing from someone who has to evaluate enlisted personel and deal with their family crap). Her character made him look like a real chief!
realistic? ok, maybe. annoying? still yes…
by the way, I meant useless in the sense that they do nothing to help out the troubles the crews are in. Not only that, they are often the cause of it, or give others grief when they have a situation they need to take care of…
You know… can’t we blame her for some of the Pah Wraith problems? If she were a red shirt rather than the chief’s wife…she could have jsut been killed!
