Most annoying character!

Also a question for you guys, then it’s bed time?

Was Wesley as annoying or was it thae fact that Weslet was there annoying?

Was it that you couldn’t stand what he said and did… or what he represented. Wesley didn’t really do anything that annoyed me… I was jsut pissed that someone who wasn’t an Alien, Doctor Swashbuckler, or one of their employees on the ship on a weekly basis. I hated the “family on board” concept from the beggining, it was stupid. The writers only regularly remebered it and almost NEVER seperated the saucer, even thou there was danger afoot in every episode. Wesley, for me, just meant there was a reminder of this stupidoty every day. Looking back… Wesley himself was not even as bad as Neelix or Rom.

I was Wes’s age and that was a turn off to me. I never bought into the Wessly, Robin the boy wonder, or Jake Sisko concept that seeing a yong person somehow made me feel better. I was watching an adventure show. I wanted every peerson to be cool. Wesley wasn’t even as cool as my best friend ( other than the fact he was on TV). When I tuned in to see the new Trek show… I didnt want a kid that was smarter than the chief engineer? I wanted Kirk, Spock and Mcoy… not Charlie X without powers!

Aww… why the Rom bash… yes Rom was horrible the first few seasons, but once the writters figured out where to take him, and he became the hard working enigineer, he is totally lovable, and totally useful.

Oh that Travis! facepalm Mayweather, annoying? Seriously? No wonder I couldn’t figure out who the poll was talking about. Nothing annoying about him to me!

Wesley and Jake.
Wesley because I didnt think he belonged where he was. Starfleet’s flagship, run by the best the fleet had and this kid (while smart, obviously) is only in the position he is in because his mom is chief medical officer. I always hated that. Plus all those episodes where he causes some sort of mischief because he is trying to prove himself to someone on the crew.

Jake for many of the same reasons. Only allowed to get away with what he does because his daddy is head of the station, plus he was always a little whiny.

Yes, every time Wesley would speak we would all yell at the screen “Shut up Wesley!”

Chekov — Take Chekov off the list. How dare he be included. He’s one of the original originals.

Wesley — The Boy Wonder schitck did get a little annoying at times. But there were some decent Wesley moments.

Troi — I didn’t notice it as much when I first watched the show, but in recent rewatch Fraks I’m seeing that her character was kinda mis-used. There was a lot of pontential to get use her role as the Conselour to explore the drama of human psycology, fear, leadership etc. but I think because they audience of the time wasn’t ready to get into dark, uncomfortable places, they show couldn’t do that. So I say the flaw of Troi character is no fault of the actor, but rather the fault of the writers. All that said, she was a good part of the ensemble and often stories around her were reasonably good.

Nog — Nog was awesome. The Frengi that become that most intertwined with human culture, but still at heart a Frengi.

Rom — Rom was a awesome. A great opposite to Quark, making a vivid demostation that you can’t completely stereotype an entire species.

Leeta — I’m embaresed to say I’m having a mental block. Who was this person? Rom’s wife? A Dabo girl? I forget.

Jake — Jake was fine. Stories that revolved around Sisko and Jake or Jake and Nog were usually pretty awesome.

Ezri — Too cute for words. Ezri / Bashir flirtation worked for me.

Janeway – Janeway was great. A fully multidimensional character with strengths, flaws, quirks the whole 9 yards.

Harry Kim – Kim was fine. Worked well in the Voyager ensemble. Lots of great stories around Kim. Contrasted nicely with Tom and all the other characters.

Neelix – I reluctantly admit I did find Neelix somewhat annoying at times. I would have replaced him with that hybrid of Tuvok and Neelix, but still kept Tuvok as Tuvok.

Hoshi — I liked Hoshi. She was in some ways, the character that Uhura never got to be. She’s a linguistic / communications genius which I always imagined Uhura was but they never got to get into that.

Seven – Take her off this list!!! She’s one of the best characters in Star Trek!! She would have been awesome even without that hot body. The hot body was a nice plus. That episode where the Doctor is falling for Seven is one of the most heartbreaking episodes ever.

Travis — Yeah. I agree with Talos. Didn’t have enough screen time or lines. That said, sometimes an actor can make a character pop out even with a small number of lines, and this guy didn’t accomplish that.

I’m with Chuck. Kes should at least be on this list, and she may be the most annoying and most useless.

I didn’t vote, because I don’t think any on this list were most annoying.

wait, the Jake that went back to school to study quantum mechanics just so that he can save his dad. or the Jake that chose to stay on DS9 because he thought he could use his writing to report on the situation under Dominion rule.

He might not be the most lovable character, and he whines from time to time, but when time calls for it, Jake is willing to stand up for what he believes in, just not always the Starfleet way.

Checov, being on TOS doesn’t make your screams and accent not annoying to people that don’t give him a free pass for being on the TOS.

many characters WERE annoying, but later the writers figured out how to make them less so ( or maybe not at all)

Rom went from a useless tard… to someone who still sounded like a useless tard… but wasn’t useless. So Yes he was annoying, but later he was annoying but saved the day!

Jake was a usless annoying kid until her grew up, but he WAS annoying as hell for a while. I like that Jake was a real kid and not a Wesley. The problem is he should have been in the show about as much as Keiko and Molly. He was annoying in the early years becuase he was a full cast member and they had to invent a scene for him to pay him. Older Jake, I love to death… but young Jake should have not been around as much. I think Naiomi Wildman was NOT annoying BTW, they jsut played her as a real liitle girl and didn’t go out of their way to have her in every episode. Jake wouldn’t be on the list if in season 2 and three… we were seen and not heard.

Nog was completely usless for 4 seasons… then later he was as cool as a kid actor can be ( which is barley not be annoying)… but for 5 or five seasons he blows.

Janeway… sorry her “kathryn hepburn” voice makes me cringe.

Wesley is ok the last few appearances…but seasons 1-4 he sucks.

Troi’s voice annoys me.

Leeta - was a bit part character actress who should have only had a three story arc. Who did she do to get to keep that job? Her voice is horrible… and to think she is a voice actress on the Robotech cartoon from 2007.

Harry is annoying because this is an adventure show… and he’s a dork.

Neelix… needs no explanation.

Hoshi- I love, but I know others hate her so she was included.

Seven. - she is hot… but her “on the verger of tears constantly” act does get old.

I, too, am surprised Kes wasn’t on the list. But, Neelix got my vote.

I didn’t have much of a problem with Wesley except the writers kept using him to make trouble for the episode consistently.

How was Hoshii annoying?

After this poll closes(?), should have a run off between the top two winners(losers?) and Kes and Keiko. d:

Well, I guess we know it’ll be Wesley, Neelix, Kes and Keiko?

I’m writing in Keiko. When she got injured in that runabout (which resulted in Kira carrying her fetus son), I was SO hoping she was Gamma quadrant chum. Alas, she made it back.

She was more attractive to me when she was inhabited by that Pah Wraith.

really? i didn’t notice the change…

lol! Rofl!

I nominate the entire cast of Voyager.
