Chekov — Take Chekov off the list. How dare he be included. He’s one of the original originals.
Wesley — The Boy Wonder schitck did get a little annoying at times. But there were some decent Wesley moments.
Troi — I didn’t notice it as much when I first watched the show, but in recent rewatch Fraks I’m seeing that her character was kinda mis-used. There was a lot of pontential to get use her role as the Conselour to explore the drama of human psycology, fear, leadership etc. but I think because they audience of the time wasn’t ready to get into dark, uncomfortable places, they show couldn’t do that. So I say the flaw of Troi character is no fault of the actor, but rather the fault of the writers. All that said, she was a good part of the ensemble and often stories around her were reasonably good.
Nog — Nog was awesome. The Frengi that become that most intertwined with human culture, but still at heart a Frengi.
Rom — Rom was a awesome. A great opposite to Quark, making a vivid demostation that you can’t completely stereotype an entire species.
Leeta — I’m embaresed to say I’m having a mental block. Who was this person? Rom’s wife? A Dabo girl? I forget.
Jake — Jake was fine. Stories that revolved around Sisko and Jake or Jake and Nog were usually pretty awesome.
Ezri — Too cute for words. Ezri / Bashir flirtation worked for me.
Janeway – Janeway was great. A fully multidimensional character with strengths, flaws, quirks the whole 9 yards.
Harry Kim – Kim was fine. Worked well in the Voyager ensemble. Lots of great stories around Kim. Contrasted nicely with Tom and all the other characters.
Neelix – I reluctantly admit I did find Neelix somewhat annoying at times. I would have replaced him with that hybrid of Tuvok and Neelix, but still kept Tuvok as Tuvok.
Hoshi — I liked Hoshi. She was in some ways, the character that Uhura never got to be. She’s a linguistic / communications genius which I always imagined Uhura was but they never got to get into that.
Seven – Take her off this list!!! She’s one of the best characters in Star Trek!! She would have been awesome even without that hot body. The hot body was a nice plus. That episode where the Doctor is falling for Seven is one of the most heartbreaking episodes ever.
Travis — Yeah. I agree with Talos. Didn’t have enough screen time or lines. That said, sometimes an actor can make a character pop out even with a small number of lines, and this guy didn’t accomplish that.
I’m with Chuck. Kes should at least be on this list, and she may be the most annoying and most useless.
I didn’t vote, because I don’t think any on this list were most annoying.
