Mass Effect News!

SSV Normandy:
PROs: Advanced IES stealth systems way ahead of anything in the rest of the Systems Alliance fleet, equipped with GARDIAN point defense lasers, kinetic barriers, and a spinal mass accelerator cannon.

CONs: Slowest elevator in the known universe is the only way to reach half of the ship.

AAAARRRRRGHHHH!

Mass effect 1 replay nearing completion – All the side missions are basically done, now to polish off
Vermire, keep Wrex alive this time (didn’t work out for him too well last time), kill off Ashley (my Femshep kinda has a thing for Kaidan, so sorry Ashley, I don’t think we’ll see you in ME3 this time)
and away we go!

Heya Gang,

It’s been almost eight and a half years since the original Mass Effect came out in November 2007, and almost two years since the release of the last instalment in the series (Mass Effect 3) in March of 2012. Yet despite this, the game is still relevant and inspiring people. There’s been two great examples of this recently that made sense to share…

 1. A Reaper is Born

Recently the folks at BioWare highlighted the efforts of two crafters who made an awesome Reaper diorama. For those of you who play Warhammer 40K or Fantasy, you’ll recognize the terrain immediately, and that’s no surprise given that the couple is very active in the 40K Fandom. Definitely worth a read!

 1. A New Mass Effect Podcast on the Gonna Geek Network

Although it’s been a while since we’ve gotten a new GWC podcast, the gang over at Gonna Geek, including quite a few of the GWC Alpacas and Alpaca Primes, have been casting up a storm. There’s a cast for everyone, from Dr. Who to comics, gaming, genre TV shows and movies. The latest edition to the Podcast Network is a Mass Effect podcast that will be starting up soon.

Keep fighting the good fight gang!

While its more of a teaser, it’s a great idea…

Glad to think it’s on BioWare’s radar. Fingers crossed.

Amidst thirty sweaty palmed write ups of a tweet, planetary scanning picked up this gem of multiple console domesticity:

Summary: Husband not-so-gallantly buys wife LEGO® Marvel Super Heroes for her Wii U. His real motivation: to better continue a Mass Effect 3 binge on his PS3. Yet when she remains desirous of the family big screen to watch the LEGO® Marvel Super Heroes intro (all of two minutes in length she says) prior to switching the game to her Wii U tablet, ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE.

cafemom: Love & Marriage: Me, the husband, my Wii U and Mass Effect 3 on his ps3…

Bioware’s senior level designer for ME3 and? ME4. Yeah, evidently it was a whopper of a keynote that I can’t find text or video of. It’ll be in the GDC Vault much, much later. Is this signaling that Mass Effect 4 will abandon its own stereotypical hippy, bosomy, skin tight armored females of Mass Effect old?

Also at GDC: mo’ Mass Effect 4 concept art (a single solitary image) that I refuse to link to due to its generic vagueness.

ME3 is three. Happy Birthday ME3. (N7 Day is the anniversary of Mass Effect (1)) Bioware is fully deployed at PAX East '15 this weekend to promote Bioware & Dragon Age in general, but most ME4 devs are in attendance too. Still no ME news on day two of three. In February, ME4 single player was described as “massive” to quell fan worries after Bioware posted several job listings for ME4 “online.” However I don’t believe ME3 multiplayer ever had its own dedicated producer after launch… so multiplayer is going to be a larger component of the overall game compared to before.
