I tried looking for ME3 news on gamespot, but didn’t find any. Can anyone provide some links?
I’m worried about that as well but I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt since it is Bioware. I just hope they bring the trilogy to a close in a way that does Shepard justice.
I just found a Mass Effect/Stargate crossover fanfic. Don’t entirely agree with some of the choices, but it’s pretty good and has some nice humor slipped in.

[li]“I’m Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite planet to crash land on.”
[/li][li]“Oh that’s just great! The cylon wants to play hackers! Sure we’ll just infect the mothership with a virus to bring their shields down and send Will Smith to blow them to kingdom come!” (What puts it over the top is the “Cylon” Rodney was referring to was EDI)

The sad thing is that you will never hear someone say “We’re going to tailor this for a more specialized audience. We know we’ll sell fewer copies and make less money but that smaller audience will be happy.”
With games costing millions of dollars now it is unfortunate that the big publishers have to do anything they can to maximize audience and revenue. Yeah, you get the occasional indie success like Minecraft but I don’t think anyone is going to compare it to a polished story experience like ME.
I’m just afraid they’re going to turn it into something like Call of Duty; lots of scripted cutscenes and no real user choice except what order to shoot things. OTOH, CoD has sold about a bazillion copies, so what do I know.
Just watched one of the gameplay videos, and
[spoiler]
Saw Mordin and Wrex was mentioned as waiting at the landing platform.
At least some of Cerberus got indoctrinated.
On the second video, I saw Tali, Legion, and a male Quarian (doesn’t look like Kal’Reegar though )
Did I just see Anderson as a squad-mate for one bit of it?

Omni-blade looks sweet.
Please share the link?
Saw the E3 coverage of ME3 on Monday and I’m very excited for the game. I was impressed with the Kinect usage on the 360 version. I’m really going to like being able to say a command to a party member and have them do it without constantly going into the menu for powers and being able to verbally select dialogue choices w/o using a headset since they tend to make my ears hurt.
EA’s new service, Origin, has an awesome trailer as well at www.origin.com
Also got my N7 Collector’s Editions reserved for the 360 and PS3. Bioware really packed in some pretty awesome stuff.
Here’s the first one. I got to the others off links after it was done.

EDIT: Oh, and information on the collector’s edition. http://masseffect.com/me3/game/order/
I guess I’ll be getting the collectors edition. Amazon uk don’t have them for pre-order yet. I hope it’s not a retailer exclusive. It’s expensive, but I’m a total sucker for a collectors edition.
I pre-ordered mine back when I picked up Dragon Age 2. Of course we were expecting a December release then.
I usually wait until games have had the price slashed, but I’ll be pre-ordering ME3. I can’t wait an extra year.
In the gameplay video you hear Liara say Cerberus just won’t stop and then Shepard says, “They’re indoctrinated, they’re capable of anything”.
I guess we know why Cerberus is hunting Shepard. I wonder if the Reapers got to the Illusive Man.
The onmi-blade looks pretty pimp, did you catch the part towards the end where he grabbed the guy and yanked him over the wall before skewering him?
I also like the combat roll.
I’ve never pre-ordered anything. Until now. It seems pretty expensive, but the list of stuff looks badass. The patch will be a nice addition to my collection.
It is a pretty awesome collector’s edition. I can’t wait to get it because I’m a Collector’s edition nut. I’m always buying them if possible and this is the best one Bioware has done since the DA:O collectors edition with it’s cloth map of Ferelden.
I’m the same way. I went to Gamespot today to change my ME3 edition to CE. The $60 to $85 price jump hurts though.
Is the Kinect support just voice commands? If it is I’m not sure it’s worth getting a kinect just for this game. Also if is just voice commands, is there any reason why it wouldn’t work with just a headset?
It is just voice commands. I don’t know why it wouldn’t work with a headset but I don’t know if it will. I got my Kinect for free so I can’t complain about the price of it but I would probably talk myself into it of I didn’t already own one.
I think so.
If it is I’m not sure it’s worth getting a kinect just for this game.
I agree. I see it as a bonus for having a Kinect.
Also if is just voice commands, is there any reason why it wouldn’t work with just a headset?
Yes. A very good reason: They want you to buy a Kinect
I thought it might be something like that. Hell, the PS2 theoretically could support voice commands (with SOCCUM, I think). I’m already spending way more on the collectors edition that is sensible so I think the kinect can wait. Unless it turns out to be unbelievably cool.,
