Well, I just finished my first Mass Effect 2 playthrough, and damn, what an ending. The final boss was a bit of a pain, but mostly just from trying to line up a shot with my Collector Beam Weapon. Lost Jack from the team holding open my line of retreat. Never got my Paragon score high enough to get her loyal again after the confrontation with Miranda.
Almost done with overlord now, just need to load it up and press through
Has anyone else noticed the third set of hooks in the Normandy cargo bay?
Third vehicle for DLC maybe?
Some sort of personal hover car?
That would be cool
When I get downloadable content, do I have to start a new game to see it? This is for both games, since I just got ME1 for my X Box today.
I havent downloaded anything for ME1, but I know in ME2 once it downloads, the next time you start up your current game it will be there.
Wow, I hadn’t realized how lucky I was before to have ME on my computer. The controls for the X-Box version seem like crap compared to ME2. That’s without even getting into the decryption minigame and the inventory system.
Well, it’s still worth it to be able to get saves to transfer to ME2 on new characters, but I’m sure I’ll get used to it.
Nope - it will pop into any current game or an old career that you load. I like to run through the DLC with my original Shep on novice level so I can figure out the map.
Thanks. Just got all the available DLC for both games (except the extra outfit pack in ME2).
The Normandy crash site was kind of boring. Are all 20 dogtags there? I only found 16 before I gave up on it.
Yeah, there are 20 tags. Sometimes, 21.
Shepard can find his/her own tag. I never got that one. My guess is I need a ME1 import for that.
There are several Youtube walkthroughs for that mission.
I just thought of a Sheppard that would be fun to set up going into ME3, a Sam Carter one (love interests from both ME1 and ME2 die). Wouldn’t work exactly for ME1, since Ash/Kaiden die before consumating the relationships. It’d be interesting to see how it will turn out once we have the whole story.
OK, just finished my second playthrough and managed to get everyone out alive. Now I’m done with ME2 until I get a finished ME1 game to import.
Oh, and I ended up going the Tali romance route this time because I rushed through one of the dialogs with Miranda and accidentally picked an option that killed that one.
As I’ve been playing Mass Effect on my X-Box for the first time, I’ve been thinking of how they’d make it into a movie (if they want to do a lift from the game rather than just one set in the universe).
I figure their best bet would be two movies to cover the first game. They would obviously still have to cut quite a bit of stuff, but this would make it easier to get the major points across.
In this outline, I’ve trimmed out Liara’s world (Maybe Sheppard could contact Liara from the Citadel and meet her at Noveria or something like that). Fighting the Geth at Feros could work as the beginning of the second movie, but probably trim out the Thorian.
Movie 1: Eden Prime, Citadel, Noveria - climax would be the fight with Benezia.
Movie 2: Feros (just fighting the Geth, cut out the Thorian and have Sheppard retrieve data from the Geth base), Virmire, Ilos, Citadel
I just got all the DLC. The Kasumi one is pretty cool, her mission was a lot of fun. I didn’t care that much for the firewalker missions, they weren’t great. But I really enjoyed Project overlord.
I understand the next one will feature Liara and a hunt for the Shadowbroker. Hopefully it won’t be too long. I need to do an Insanity run with my original character (who hooked up with Liara in the first game), so I’ll use that character and avoid any of the ME2 romance options. I will take that character through ME3 first.
Yeah, the crew will love the Kasumi one if they ever get to it. I’m pretty sure there are even a few Oceans references in it. I also agree that the Firewalker missions are pretty meh. More about introducing the Hammerhead than any semblance of story. I actually did Overlord before it, which meant I had to figure out the Hammerhead controls on my own. Since there aren’t any “Completionist” achievements in ME2, I probably won’t bother with doing Firewalker again.
Overlord is fun, though the fight at the end of it can be a bit of a pain since you’re solo for it.
I just finished my first 360 ME1 runthrough and imported that character into 2 last night. She’s a renegade but saved the council so I could see how things change without the default options. It’ll be my first mostly renegade playthrough of ME2 as well.
The most obvious Oceans reference is the name of the Achievement ‘Broke, Blind and Bedlam’

Crom, how are they gonna pull this off.
Also I’ve been playing through all the DLC as of yet for a renegade Insanity run. My favorites were Kasumi followed quickly by Overlord. Sucks being a renegade for Overlord though my god.
I like Tali, but some people take it too far. Someone actually suggested having Tali in Dragon Age 2.
My dear Starsaber… There is no such thing as taking the Tali thing too far… No…such…thing. Trust me on this
I literally can’t believe you’re not more into Jack.
I mean Bioware might as well have called you up and been like “Yo what do you want the LI in ME2 to be?”

New DLC, Lair of the Shadow Broker, due out in on the 7th of September. Time for another replay I think.
