Mass Effect 3 - Awwwww Yeeeah!

I haven’t got any theories yet because I’m still too busy squeeing in delight over the trailer. I’m so excited I think I’m going to go all the way back to ME1 and start Shepard’s story over again.

Tralier was awesome. Now I have 2 games to buy: ME3 and Arkham City.

Same here except tack on Elder Scrolls V.

I plan on doing an epic Mass Effect 1 --> Mass Effect 2 --> Mass Effect 3 playthrough for both my Shepards next fall. I’ve never taken vacation time for a game release but I might just do it next year for the first time! Ghhhhhh “Holiday 2011” cannot get here fast enough!

Based on Daisuke’s compelling argument to play as yourself and not an archetype I’m thinking that while I will play a total Renegade this time around with ME2, I will play a Shepard based on myself for that kind of epic 1->2->3 run myself in the fall.

That’s what’s so great about these games. While the connectivity between chapters is obviously limited (they can’t make a game that is different for every single decision), the idea that you can play three games together as part of one over-arcing journey is pretty darn neat.

Probably a good idea!

My main Shepard is basically “me”, I even modeled him to look like a Mass Effect’d version of myself (though I’m not nearly as in great shape… yet lol) and I tend to play him as if it was me in the context of the ME universe.

I don’t think I’ve ever been so attached to a fictional character like I have with main Shepard.

Side note: I am glad that the latest ME3 trailer sort kept Shepard’s face in the shadows, the default Shepard has always made me go “THAT ISN’T SHEPARD!!!” so at least with this latest trailer I can pretend it was my dude.

Side side note: I still maintain that Bioware really missed a great opportunity to make their canon protagonist something other than a standard white male with their Mass Effect advertising. It really should have been the Femshep if you ask me.

You have a legion (pun intended) of like minds who believe the same thing. Femshep has a very strong following.

I have the reverse problem. I use standard male Shepard. So, when I see youtube videos or reviews of other people’s male Shepard, I go, “That’s not Shepard…” d: I don’t have that issue when I see a Femshep though.

I’ve tried to dink with the “look” of Shepard and it never goes well. My Shepard looks like BioWare’s.

I’ve taken my required 7 consecutive calendar day vacation for a video game for the last 3 years. A week for each Mass Effect and a week for Dragon Age and I will be taking my week vacation for Mass Effect 3.

Really? I beat ME2 in a weekend, can’t see taking a week off to play any game but more power to you

i spent as much time as humanly possible to beat ME2 and it took me two weeks. man, i miss the single, childless life for gaming runs.

I don’t do it for every game but Bioware games make me want to play them over and over again so I take time off so I can get it out of my system without having to use sick time (which I did for KOTOR) and I can keep my job.

Don’t tell anyone but I beat it the weekend BEFORE it came out. I don’t know exactly how long I slept but it wasn’t much
