The release of Mass Effect 3 was leaked today

Looks like it’s going to be released on XBox, PS3 and PC! The official announcement will drop in Spike’s Video Game Awards tomorrow :slight_smile:

Earth is burning. Striking from beyond known space, a race of terrifying machines have begun their destruction of the human race. As Commander Shepard, an Alliance Marine, your only hope for saving mankind is to rally the civilizations of the galaxy and launch one final mission to take back the Earth.

I can’t wait. The release date is the most important thing though. With Dragon Age 2 coming out in March, I suppose it will be next winter, just before christmas when it comes out. Assuming that there fairly well on with development. I’ll be pre-ordering regardless.

I think I’ll be a little nit-picky. I don’t think Shepard is an Alliance Marine, he’s Alliance Navy.

what the heck? why must all super strong hostile aliens go after Earth first??? its on now Reapers!!!

I wonder how this will all play out? Will it be like in ME2 where instead of gathering a team per say you have to go and convince all the governments of the other species to join a Coalition? Will you be starting the game and Earth is attacked or will we just know about a pending attack on Earth?

Well, it was a human who disrupted their plans in ME 1 & 2 so they may think of humans as their biggest threat. Of course, it’s always the cliche that humans are always the biggest mofos in the Galaxy; the most powerful species despite the fact that they’ve only been in space a few years/decades/centuries as opposed to these other races that have been there for millennia. The John Campbell influence on SF, I suppose.

Since Shepard was working with Cerebus, convincing the governments would prolly be likely. Shepard already have loyal characters from ME1 and 2 to pull from, but I can see Bioware adding up to 3 or 4 more to further the plot. I kinda wanna see a Marvel Team Up of characters from just the first two though.

Prolly a pending attack on Earth is my guess. Sorta like B5: Crusade’s pilot.

Of course, this being Bioware, they are gonna turn Shepard into part Reaper. d:

I’m still bouncing around the apartment in excitement since they aired the trailer. Shepard’s coming to Earth, baby!!! I cannot wait and I really hope the British guy in the trailer is actually a part of the game. Seeing the Reapers hovering above Earth was frakking awesome.

Given at the end of Mass Effect 2 we saw the reapers coming out of deep space I think it’s far to say this is just a tease of maybe the end game or half way point of the game. I can’t see them jumping us right into the game with Earth being attacked.

And damn that thing was AWESOME. I hope the Brit Soldier is a new teammate, I loved seeing a futureish Earth that still looked like Earth(Suck it Halo 3)

Ahhhhh!!! I love how the music kicks in at the end of the trailer.

I kinda think it would be cool if they started with the attack on Earth. But who knows? Who could have predicted the beginning of ME2? Perhaps that will be part of the plot. The whole game is spent building up a force and meanwhile you are getting messages from people that certain cities have fallen. :wink:

How awesome would it be if the Doctor showed up on the Normandy and you had to convince him to go back and stall them till you arrived? :stuck_out_tongue:

I wonder if Garrus will be a party member in ME3. For that matter, will any of the former squadmates be allowed. I’m pretty sure that all of them except Liara can die at one point or another. Garrus barely left my party all the way through ME1 and ME2 so I hope he will be a party member in ME3. I’d also really like Tali and Mordin. But there will obviously be new members

Anyone know why wikipedia says that Mass Effect 3 will be a PS3 exclusive? That’s almost certainly BS, right? I can’t believe they’d abandon the xbox 360 for the last game.

It has already been changed.

I always used Tali/Liara in ME then Tali/Samara in ME2.

Since ME3 will be the end of Shepard’s story, the whole galaxy can burn as long as I get a wedding scene with Liara. :cool:
